Here's that whole article; sounds really fishy to me.

PAWTUCKET, R.I. -- A man told Pawtucket police that he was shot by two strangers while in his garage off Perrin Avenue Wednesday night.

James A. Ferguson, 28, told the police that he was working on his motorcycle at 80-82 Perrin Ave. when two men walked in and demanded the keys, Maj. Arthur Martins said.

Ferguson said that when he refused, they attacked him and shot him in the leg, Martins said. The wound is not life threatening.

No one reported hearing gunfire in the area, Martins said. He declined to say what evidence was found at the garage.

Ferguson gave a vague description of the assailants. He went home and called for medical attention.

Ferguson was paroled on April 22 after serving time at the Adult Correctional Institutions on charges of drug dealing, said Tracey Zeckhausen, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections. He is currently on probation, according to court records.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Detective Donti Rosciti at (401) 727-9100, ext. 737.

Bike thieves should be treated the same way as horse thieves were treated in the old west, hung on the spot.

I could understand this if it was a Bimota or Vyrus or Desmosidici or something, but I bet it was just a Harley.

See, THIS is why you have comp insurance on your bikes. Letting go of your bike or getting SHOT should not be a difficult decision. It's not like he would have been stranded out on the middle of nowhere midway through a ride.

I'd bet good money that he shot himself in the leg, and that being a parolee, he knew he was gonna get in trouble for possessing a gun, so he made up a story. Now, if it were me in my garage, they'd be able to identify the "assailants" because they'd be DRT.
