@bad vibe: I've never had gel seats, but a friend did and absolutely hated them. He felt they were too squishy for good handling (an ex racer), but his biggest complaint was how they really heated up and held it when left in the sun. The same went for cold weather too. The semi-liquid gel wants to hold the ambient temperature. You may want to try a pad that straps to the rear seat to see if it even makes a significant difference in comfort first. Gel seats can be pretty pricey. Another alternative is to have additional, or different grade, foam installed in your rear seat. If needed, a ''skirt'' can be sewn to the stock seat cover allowing room for more padding, and you won't end up with mismatched upholstery either.

just want a comfy seat, plenty of front options but rear im not aware of any other than oem and custom, just seeing if anyone got the oem (comfort gel/gel channel) set and is using a solo rear cowl and wants to unload, I can deal with hot / cold posterior
