Issue tuning stock idle mixture.

Ok so here's what I'm kinda confused about. I cant match rpms for indivudual cylinders while hooked up individually. My right side cylinder seems to rotate slower than my left side cylinder. I am trying to tune my stock idle mixture settings with a baseline of 2.5 (left) and 1.75 (right) but when i attempt to run the bike on only the second (right side) cylinder it runs sloppy and no amount of a/f adjustment has an affect on it.

am i supposed to do cylinder one and then leave it connected and move on to cylinder two? or do i possibly have an underlaying issue with vacuum or a coil?

any info to help point me in the right direction would be appreciated greatly. thank you ahead of time. (sorry about any typos, on screen keyboards really stink!)

You're skipping ahead. Fuel adjustment is only after-the-fact setting to match actual air-flow. You need to sync the carbs first to make sure they're both flowing the exact same amount of air. Hook up vacuum-gauges to each one and make sure they're both identical.

done and done perfectly synced, it just runs funny on cyl 2 alone. probably something to do with the airbox / needle / mixture settings for the right side. I got it anyways i ended up with left side and 2.75 turns out and right side 2 turns out.

Oddly enough tuning the carbs for the stock setup is actually trickier than it would be for after market jets needles and a pod. The egr basically a vacuum leak and to properly sync the carbs it has to be in place or you will nail down sync and throw it off when the egr allows vacuum to open and close the valve.

i find it odd that nobody has made a post relating to it. tons of posts around on tuning for after market jet kits but hardly anything for making the stock set up work right. oddly the whole reason people end up jetting and going through hell is because it probably just needs to be tuned right.
