Bike won't start, help!

went to start this bike this morning and it wouldn't start!, it appears that the battery is dead but it won't even attempt to turn over - turn signals are dim dim dim, horn BARELY works at all, but it has been running great all summer - up untill today, I'm trying to charge it now, but the battery charger doesn't appear to be working - any ideas guys?

Your battery charger may take several hours depending on how dead your battery is. As far as jump starting from a car battery, I'm not certain if it's true but don't start the car. It's battery should be more than enough to start your bike. The bump start may be difficult as the bike can't be put into second gear without a certain amount of speed.

still at a loss as to why the battery drained overnight like that... but it's back up and running thanks to my dad's battery charger, working like new *shrugs*, thanks for the replies guys (I've helped my buddy's dad bump start his honda once upon a time)

do you kill the bike with the key or the kill switch? if the kill switch, could you have possibly left the key in the "on" position?

I generally use the key - once in a while I do use the kill switch so I can see in the garage as I park the bike, but in this case, I'm certain I didn't leave it in the "on" position... as I never leave my keys in my bike

okay... didn't quite understand where you park your bike and all. there have been people who use the kill switch and forget to turn the key off, which leaves the headlight on.

in any case, be mindful if the bike has a hard time starting in the future. Batteries don't like to be drained completely and often suffer from a shortened life because of this. It can also reduce it's CCA ability. Just something to be on the lookout for.

exactly, which is what i do on purpose occasionaly, ya know, so you can see, but never for extended periods of time, I'll just go get a new battery and make things simple, thanks Kelly

if the bike's is still under warranty, you may be able to get a free one under warranty if they can figure out the cause of what's draining your battery. might be more trouble than it's worth, though.

hope a one solves your problem and the cause is that you had a bum battery from the factory.
