Angry Neighbor tried to kill me. What type of car is this?

I need help identifying a car and I don't have much to go on, but I'll give you what I got.

My neighborhood doesn't have thru-streets, so virtually all cars here either live here or have some business here. When I pulled into my neighborhood after work today I noticed a black SUV (the small, squatty kind) was behind me a little ways back, and going a little too fast. After turning onto my street, then going half a block to my house I honestly lost track of it, thinking it turned into another street. I slowed as I approached my house, waved at my kids, flashed my high-beam (this opens the garage door), and my brake light modulator would have been flashing. As I was initiated the RIGHT turn into my driveway, I saw a black blur as this mother ****er passes me on the RIGHT without even slowing. There was maybe one foot of clearance between the car and my bike, the SUV's right tires would have had to have been in the gutter. Had I not been so stunned, I MAY have followed it to see where it lived, but I missed the opportunity. Unfortunately this once also happened to my wife as she was pulling into the driveway. I can't tell you how much this pisses me off, especially since we live in a neighborhood that's protected from the main traffic, with lots of young kids.

I'd like to have a conversation with this person, but need to first identify the car. The only thing I can for sure remember seeing in my rear-view mirror was a big chrome triangle, with rounded corners on the hood. I didn't make out an actual badge, but it was large enough that it could have conceivably had a badge inside the triangle. It's possible the triangle was integrated into the design of the grill, and I THINK the triangle was upside-down. It was either a squatty SUV, or one of those tall crossover jobs. It's funny the details you remember, and don't remember. Unfortunately google images let me down.

I would appreciated any serious guesses as to the make/model of vehicle this could have been.

I know it isn't an Acura (friend has one), and I don't think it's in the image listed above. I'm pretty good with 99% of the badges that would be on a car in the US.... at least I think I am. However, I didn't actually get a look at the badge itself. The chrome triangle is more of a design feature, and not actually part of the badge/emblem.

Those are all good guesses based on the info I gave, which I know isn't much, but none are a match. The Alpha Romero may be the closest, but that still wasn't it.... don't think they make anything other than regular cars anyways. I'll be on the lookout. First time was an old red pickup (I wasn't there). My daughter said this one was being driven by an older lady. I usually give older drivers a lot more benefit of the doubt and grace for their general decline in attention, reflex, etc., but this bitch was deliberate (also don't know what "old" is to my daughter).

If I mixed it up in my head, thinking I saw something else, the Nissan may be the closest.

Approach is not landing.

Stay alert until you turn the engine off, specially a few miles around home.

Non-familiar cars are the worst, as the driver may be lost and looking for an address.

Pontiac Aztek. Actually a pretty decent vehicle for its intended application.

It sure is hideous, though.

I would recommend hopping on your bike and riding around your neighborhood (start by going in the direction the suspect vehicle was going) and seeing if you can spot the offending vehicle parked in a driveway or on the street (or an open garage). Given that you still have to find the vehicle in question, even if we do identify it for you, you may ask well get a head start on that.

The small Mercedes SUV called the GLK350 has a squat profile (and is probably driven by a larger percentage of a**holes than most other SUVs). You might want to look at images of it to see if it rings a bell with you.

Although, the Mazda CX-5 SUV also has a squat profile and the center surround of the grill is roughly triangular.

Not sure if that's her, or me. I've looked at every make/model and don't think I'll recognize the car unless I see it again in the wild.

So.... say I find the car parked in a driveway. Perhaps the owner is running late for work the next morning and finds an envelope on her windshield with a "F U " note written on it. Let's say, hypothetically of course, she looks inside the envelope and it contains all 4 of her valve cores (nothing broken). Were any laws broken?

Nissan navarra with a back cover on it? Reasonably squat, small compared to say a F150 or ram

A note left in brake fluid in her bonnet or a large firecracker up her exhaust (ho ho ) without a note & waiting quietly until it heats up would certainly be illegal...

First off , glad you are okay.

As far as the suv...
Could it be a mercedes?

You can do a couple things...
1. Look on google maps around your neighborhood to see if any vehicles around your house kinda match the description .
2. Keep put a go pro somewhere to take a time lapse picture to see all the vehicles that come through the street.
If you said this has been the second time, then that person must live around there somewhere and is bound to take that route again (human habits of comfortless)

Good luck

first of all, calm down.
secondly, in the words of a very wise man, an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. and no i'm not talking about the pope.
third, you were making a right hand turn? with enough room on the right to squeeze a large truck through? how are you justifying this again?

it sounds to me like you were riding ignorantly, someone either almost hit you and swerved to avoid you (don't you know, you are invisible.) or intentionally tried to scare you or worse. and your solution to you not taking proper precautions is to go find their car and remove their valve stems damaging their rims? (btw its called vandalism)

grow up.

Lol some how I was waiting for you to chime in on the valve stem comment and if I were him, I'd just stick a few glass stink bombs under their welcome mat, and wire their horn to the alternator
