I hit a bad pothole the other day. I was going about half his speed though. Massively jolted the bike, but no damage.

The ninja holds up really well with potholes (no damage yet), despite having developed superhuman pothole avoiding skills I still manage to hit a bad one every now and then

Some of our roads are really, really bad:

Thankfully both university and work are in Malta so most of the riding I do is over there (some really wonderful coast roads) where the roads are significantly better... However I do quite a bit of riding in Gozo (Gozo is Malta's smaller sister island) as well. There are a few good roads but unfortunately there are a lot of bad ones as well. Avoiding potholes becomes natural after a while, infact i prefer riding the ninjette than the car since I can avoid most of the potholes on the ninjette while some are practically unavoidable with the car.

On a side note the funniest part there are still some people who own literbikes and hayabusas over here. The only reason I would ever buy a big bike like that is for touring across europe.

And I thought the section of grooved pavement (from where they will repave soon) on my way to work was bad..

Some day i will record my commute from Gozo, to the university in Malta (theres a ferry ride in between) so you can see the contrast between the really good and really bad roads over here. Eventually both islands should have roads up to european standards but the government tried to repave too many roads at the same time and its taking too long lol.

Well so far so good for me... I do know how to properly take a pothole if it is too late to dodge tho so that might help.
