Well guys, Easter. What did we have?

Sorry no pics, but we had an Easter brunch buffet and then Easter dinner at my Nana's.

Baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, creamed corn, rolls, fried okra, deviled eggs. For desert there was chocolate and regular cheesecake and strawberry pie(ish...).

No pics either, for Easter lunch we roast lamb, with roast potatoes and all the usual sides. For dessert we had some chocolate pudding.

Lamb is pretty great. You defintately need to get ahold of some of it. I like gyro on pita with lamb. So good. There's a great place in Florida called Mr. Slavaki's (sp?). There's also a new place nearby I've been meaning to check out called Vinny & Me.

I did have a duck roast before, but it came out just ok.

I have gallstones, so I have to avoid eating fatty or fried foods - or I get gallbladder attacks (feels like a heart attack in the wrong place). Today I had a salad of tossed greens with grilled turkey slices and dried cranberries on top. It was pretty tasty.

I don't have pics, since supper was an impromptu affair. But get your mind around this:
Chuck roast cut into strips, slowly simmered in teriyaki marinade with stewed tomatoes and julienne-d lettuce. All this in a buttered toasted tortilla topped with fresh lettuce.

The actual term for small lobster is canner which is fished in the maritimes in canada. If i remember correctly maine only fishes Market (bigger lobster). I work at the lobster plant and the crab plant. We have a steel measure thingy that we use to measure the body of the lobster to determine if its a canner or market or too small and should be put back in the ocean. My uncles are also lobster fisherman.

No pictures, but an old family favourite, zuurkool(I'm Dutch-American). It's basically fermented cabbage(homemade sauerkraut) mashed with potatoes. Also had eggrolls. Yay, eggrolls.
