How fast was he going to do this to the van? (it was traveling at 65mph)

Jeff, That's a good question. I would guess that his speed was in three digits. I would also suspect that the van was going faster than 65.

Thank goodness the rear seat passenger weren't injured, or killed.

Hopefully, the rider will survive & have learned an important 'life lesson'.

He was probably riding a gixxer (report said 'Suzuki') so it probably disintegrated on impact.

But the mind boggling thing about this story is that he managed to torpedo himself right between the two backseat passengers. Wild stuff!

The video shows the bike on the ground about half way through the clip. I personally hope the rider makes a full recovery and spends a fair amount of time in behind bars for driving like an ass.

Depends on the charge they lay on him...and you can bet they'll look for something to charge him with. He rammed into the back of that van for crying out loud! It's not like he got side swiped and ended up in the back seat somehow.

If anything he's lucky he didn't kill anyone otherwise it would be a felony charge.

I hope he signed his organ donor card...

It just boggles me that people will ride like that at night. Daytime's bad enough...

Wow I am surprised he survived (so far) cause he f'ed that van up pretty good. He had to be going really fast for that to happen.

good thing he had his "corona tank top" on... when i get my bike running i'm going to buy a three wolf moon shirt. it's been proven it saves lives. just read the reviews on amazon!!!!
also, haven't you guys heard? the new squid stunt trick is the "national lampoon's van rammder"
it's new sensation, mostly associated with pain.

Did the officer in the video say, "typical high rate of speed?"
Obviously he is unable be objective enough to do his job. He is most certainly targeting motorcycles unfairly. This guy is being put on desk duty!

It is typical in wrecks like this. I'm sure he's seen a lot of them.

They probably cut it out and threw it on the ground but they should reassemble it Sweedish-style as a PSA:
