[visordown.com] - Video Supersport TT pit lane fire
GRANT Wagstaff had to leap off his Yamaha R6 when spilled fuel ignited during a pit stop in yesterday's TT Supersport 2 race on the Isle of Man. In video of the moment, someone can be heard saying 'F****** hell, mate,' as the petrol is apparently spilled during refuelling. Seconds later the bike goes up, and Wagstaff has to quickly abandon ship. Wagstaff and a mechanic were reportedly treated for burns at Noble's Hospital. The mechanic is understood to have received treatment for burns to his hands and face and stayed in hospital overnight, while Wagstaff escaped serious injury. The pit lane was closed for around a minute, with affected riders given time credits.
