I'll see you there at summit point on the 15th, I'll be running the ninja race and the supersport race as well if they let me (it's a bit of a horsepower track that one)

I'm not sure if there will be a suspension tech there, the TPM suspension tech tends to only be at njmp but I'll ask around and gabe from custom performance knows a thing or two about suspension. Glen can do a baseline as well.

I won't have that much setup with me but anything that's mine is yours while you're there

I've got a friend that may be letting me ride his gsx-r 600 for a bit too, I'll hop into white to play if I do that (mwahahahahahaha)

Awesome! I'm going with a facebook group comprised of people I don't know at all (MDSB), so it should be interesting. Do we pick canopy space wherever we want, or what? I'll be camping overnight friday on the campgrounds.

Got the hammergrips dude to make me a custom center piece. Turns out my gear rubs above the other one, because I'm so short I'm close to laying on the tank most of the time. Here's a before/after

Obviously looks better without it, but it's either that or wreck my clearcoat.

you fill up wherever there's space

camping is fun but I prefer driving to summit (and njmp) as it's not a difficult drive if you're willing to wake up at 4:20am or so. Something that I am very willing to do

I just busted my **** in the VIR N race so I've got some work to do but since I have a track day next weekend as well I should be able to get everything sorted out

When you're there listen to everything bill says in Art level 1, he drops some serious knowledge in that class even if some of it may seem redundant it all matters

The ex-racer at the local shop did it, so that's on him... I did think it was supposed to go around the other side, though. Oh well, definitely have to do an oil change after yesterday, anyway.

@M42 I think we ran into each other at tech but I wasn't able to find you after as I was too busy worrying about the races and my family coming to watch so I was in a pretty focused mindset where the only thing that mattered was dropping my times, which I did to an extent

was a good day for me in the end, and from the looks of it a good day for you as well, hopefully next time I'll be more relaxed and able to walk the paddock to find you. I do assume that you enjoyed your time with TPM at summit? which coaches did you work with? I think paul and sheldon were running novice yesterday (I almost had sheldon in the ninja race but he got back by me in T9 after he recovered from running off in T5 on the last lap)

also, you'd think an ex-racer would get something like that right

Yeah it was great! I don't remember anyone I met, I think the heat fried my brain. Coaches were Sheldon, Marika, and that machine of a man on the X1000r.

dude on the x1000r was working his first day as a coach

marika isn't a coach normally but I guess they were short staffed
sheldon is the man, we had a good fight for a few laps before he got by rick (another coach in the ninja race) and broke away

WELP

I'm going to pull my peg feelers off and install a custom "svxr" triple so I don't have that bullshit gauge mount mess up there within the next few weeks. Maybe even tidy up all that wiring.

Also I have a long term plan of buying myself a custom suit next summer for my bday. I'm weirdly proportioned so pretty much nothing fits me well out of the box, plus I could get a custom one for like ~$300 more than low level astars women's stuff. Goals!

Finally cleaned up my gauge/headlight area. Forgot to take a proper before pic, but this is how it was earlier:

crappy pic because it took so long the sun started to go down:

Replaced the triple with a custom one for gsxr swapped SVs, mounted the gauge onto the triple instead of the garbage headlight mount, put the naked SV gauge cover on there, plastidipped the headlight ring (and lost the nut off the headlight adjuster, so now it's walleyed af...), chopped the super long wires on the blinkers, ziptied some of the rat's nest together. Also plastidipped the rad guards, haven't put them on yet.

I'm extremely pleased with the results. The headlight/gauge is finally attached properly -- the old assembly would loosen even with loctite, the gauge couldn't be angled so I could see it fully because the mount 'arms' would hit the MC bleeder bolt, looked like ****, etc.

Looking good!

I'm a fan of the GSXR front end swap. Looks clean and natural for that bike.

Fall is here. Lots of leaves in the road on my last ride.

I just got a cyclops H4 3800 lumen bulb in the mail, and an R1 front master cylinder. My bike is at a friend's because of a theft scare, so I'm just sitting here looking at these fancy paperweights

What the hell is it with nails? Yesterday on the way to the track (in a huge rainstorm) I caught a nail in that pirelli DR2 I put on less than a month ago. Had to shell out for a supercorsa at the track (nail was discovered on like session 2). I'll plug up the DR and keep it as a street tire, it didn't go in too far. That's still $$ I could have gone without spending

Some track pics:

Damn nails! I picked up a nail in a one month old rear tire on my K75 a few years back. Plugged it and ran it for another 6k miles.

Hope your foot is healing!

Oh wait I have a thread

I did a Big Ole Job and swapped the USD fork springs in the front end recently. Got completely, utterly, nauseatingly sick of the jackhammers that were in there. Bought a racetech spring compressor and everything - I figured I'll have to swap the springs for every bike I own, so I thought why not invest in a fancy tool. Went from 1kg stock to .80kg/mm racetech springs and refreshed the oil. Rode it around my parking lot, it's like a completely different bike and will take some getting used to.

Things that are waiting:
R1 front MC
ZX10r rear shock that needs to be rebuilt for my weight

I also bought a second rear rim so I can have a street wheel and a track wheel and not have to mess around with tire swaps. Got a trackday planned at jenningsgp in april and at little tally in september. Also have a 1 piece track suit coming in the mail! Good winter so far, except for my wallet. RIP that thing.
