Thanks
I definitely have them turned down. First off I’m notU used to hearing so much. Also the battery is new. They are blue tooth to my phone. First time the phone rang I about had a heart attack. Full vilume horn honking . Don’t need that ring tone any more.

i just ran across this thread. i work in a high noise environment. i work on semi trucks, in a large shop. those 2500 pound engines make some noise, air tools. i actually get messed with because i am wearing earplugs when i ride a motorcycle, using air tools or working around a lot of noise. between loud music ( i'm an old school rocker) and drag racing, and now work, i have ringing in my ears, and its made me very conscious about loud noises.
it still amazes me how people can look down on others for simply trying to prevent perm. hearing loss. |

Good for you for protecting your hearing! It's not always practical or easy, but do it when you can. I wear earplugs when I work a concert, for sure. I'm trying to find some that I can physically tolerate for wearing on the bike (the ones I've tried make my skin crawl).

I enjoy music and loud concerts and when I go I use Etymotic ER20 High Fidelity earplugs. So much better than foam because they evenly cut the spectrum rather than just the high end. Now, Etymotic has the XS design which is stemless and allows use under helmets. These are supposedly good for racers or riders who want to hear what their bikes are doing, revs, tire chatter and so on. Someone who races should try them.

I will have to try those. I tried wearing earplugs in my helmet, but I couldn't hear my headset/ride buddy and that is not ok.

I really wish someone would design a full face helmet that had the ear muff type hearing protection with speakers designed into it. Maybe have a little air pump like the shoes have to bring the muffs tight to the ears. Put the helmet on, squeeze the bulb a few times for a nice snug fit and some decent noise reduction. The just push a button to release the air before taking helmet off. |

Hmmm, bummer. I've worn my regular ER20's for 3 hour concerts without issues. Did you get the large fit or the standard fit?
