Locate loose electrical wire connections
Hi everyone. The other day my when I was about to head out, I found that my bike was hit while parked in the street. My turn signals were working fine after I started it up, and I used my bike to get to my destination. The turn signals also worked when I left my destination to head back home hours later. The next day when I started up my bike, I noticed that neither of my turn signals worked, and the RPM backlight on my dashboard did not work. I'm guessing some connections where knocked loose. Does anybody know where these connections that are loose may be located? I would like to have some sort of idea before taking off the fairings to save some time, because I will have to do this in the street since I live in an apartment.

Sorry to hear about damage! I'm thinking about 360-degree camera for instances like this. Do you have 2008-2012?
There's large bundle of wires under bodywork near right knee. Also connector for right-front turn-signal is there as well. Wire bundle may be damaged, look for scratched and exposed insulatioñ. |

I have a 2008 ninja. I'm going to check there when it's a nice day and my screws won't get blown away while I take the fairings off lol. I'm also thinking about checking under the front fairing where the dashboard is. I tried taking a peek in between the side fairing (on the left side because that's where it was hit) by removing the black panels and the wires looked fine. Thanks for the advice. I'll post my findings when I work on the bike.

I finally fixed my turn signals. The issue was the relay flasher by the rear fairing on the left side of bike, and a blown turn signal fuse. Turns out that the relay flasher was getting stuck in one position, instead of making contact with and releasing contact to whatever it needed too for electricity to flow. This would cause a short circuit and blow my turn signal fuse. I installed a new 10A fuse, and poked it with a screw driver to unstick the relay and it started to flash a couple times but would stop. Turns out there was some dirt that got in between the metal contacts (probably got in there cause my fairing is cracked). As for my RPM backlight, I'm guessing it got burnt from the short circuit and needs to be replaced. If anyone runs into a similar issue I will be more than glad to outline my trouble shooting process and the details.
