Headlight question
Buddy of mine has an 04 GSXR headlight he said I could have if it'd fit my bike. Now, it looks like it'll just plug and play and the only thing I'd need to do is worry about mounting. Normally, I'd just try it out, but I don't want to fry his part if it doesn't work. It has the same kind of plug as my stock pregen light (I think). Can I just plug it in and use it? What would I need to do to make it work? Is it more trouble than it's worth? Thanks. Sorry I make so many threads :P (I did go spelunking in the search option but could find nothing that was particularly helpful.)

Looking at parts diagrams/fiche, all GSX-R 600/750/1000s in 2004 use a dual bulb headlight assembly, which appears to be either h4 low/h7 high beam, or h11 low, HB3/9005 high.
The pregen ninja only uses a single H4. (the EX-J uses a dual bulb config) To get both functioning, would likely require some wiring work since you'll be short a connector. if you're just looking to hook up just one and run it as a high/low, i guess you could do it, but you'd be giving up lighting performance and might run into some aiming issues.

Thanks for the heads up. With the mounting setup I had in mind, I didn't even consider aiming it. And there's a lot of other issues that come with how well it'd perform, like you said. This is gonna be a real pain, and probably more trouble than it's worth, but he already sent it out to me, so I guess I'm obliged to figure it out now :P |
