Single swingarm new gen ninjette mod

I saw these pics browsing around another 250 forum. This is one of the best mods ive seen done imho. I dont really have any info, just pics, i couldnt understand the language, i think its (bahasa, indonesian). This would be a hell of a diy mod.

Looks pretty neat, but I don't get it Why would you want to only have a singe swing arm? Wouldn't that seriously alter the handling?

I know a lot of the higher end bikes have 1 sided swing arms. I dont really know anything about this but im guessing if you had a one sided swing arm that it would have to be extremely strong to compensate. It does look a whole lot cleaner though...atleast from the one side

not only is that swingarm nice I also think it looks sharp with those flush mount rear turn signals and that exhaust (looks like some sort of Yoshimura).

It's a design thing, and properly engineered, doesn't affect handling negatively in any way.......

However....the only thing stock on that bike suspension wise looks to be nothing! It has the GSXR (or whatever was used) front fork swap, and the single side swing arm mod....both of which increase unsprung weight and add severly to (in stock configuration) the minimal overbrake problem that the bike has.

Also, it adds to overall weight, making the horsepower/weight ratio even less optimal.

Other than looking cool, demonstrating technology, or lightening you wallet, this is not really something appropriate to the relatively spagetti flexible frame that the next gen 250 has.

the swingarm does look pretty beefy. i would think, but am not sure, that a single sided swingarm would also have a heavier duty swingarm pivot bolt and surrounding frame, as all the forces are on one side.

Nice thing about single-sided swingarms is that tire chances are a piece of cake!

Hmmm take a look at the OP top picture. Sure looks like two rotors on the front wheel. I guess they also modded the front wheel on this "250" huh?

DO NOT WANT.

Never liked the look of single side swing arms.... Which is why the 749/999 are pretty much the only Ducati models I really like.

the wheel itself doesn't look good.

but the single sided swing arm looks great if it was a wheel that looks similar to the stock spokes such as a

i think it would look better

but as to advantages aside from super fast tire changes. plus easy maintainence thats about it and the sexyness obviously!

Definitely a front end swap as well on that bike, but it's still clearly a 250 frame. I would have guessed the SSS on the rear is from a Hawk (one of the cheapest and easiest to find bikes with a SSS), but comparing pics it actually doesn't look like it. Looks much more like a Ducati SSS.

It's a Ducati rear.

The weight, size of tire, etc. would make the bike's handling a nightmare. It was also slow the thing down drastically.

SSS has no use other than quick rear tire swaps and adjustment ease (besides looks). Dual Sided Swingarm is superior in every way.

...but, it does look cool.
