What Size Bulb Is This!?!?

...and if that is impossible to figure out from a picture alone, does anyone know how I could go about finding out what size it is?

The bulb on the right is a stock front turn signal. The bulb on the left is what my bike is currently using, however, because the person I bought it from installed aftermarket turn signals. At the time when I purchased the bike I didn't think it important what brand they were, which I immensely regret now considering the guy at the Kawi store couldn't tell me what kind of bulb it was without knowing the aftermarket signal brand.

Here is a picture of the turn signals themselves (the clear part would normally face forward, of course. I just turned it to the side so you can see it clearly):

Help! I'm tired of being scared everytime I make a right turn!

I would say it's nearly impossible to tell from that photo itself. Is there any writing on the base of the bulb? They usually have a bulb number imprinted on it.

I was worried about that, but I can't say I'm surprised....

The only thing written on the bulb itself is "12v8w"

The bulb slips into a little metal casing, and locks into it (the casing has the wire housing on the bottom of it). Would knowing the size (diameter) of the casing be of any help?

If Kim's link doesn't answer your questions, take the bulb to your local auto parts store and look for a 12volt/ 8 watt bulb with a similar base configuration.

I saw that before I posted, but (unless I missed something), it didn't answer my question. I think I'm gonna have to take K^2's advice and take it to a Kragen or Sears Auto or such later today.

g'luck. IIRC, that signal bulb is sort of an odd duck to find a suitable replacement. If you do find one, let us know.

Does anyone know if the pre-gen turn signals are the same as the 08+? I wouldn't mind going over to the local Cycle-Salvage and wiring a new metal casing if it would fit the stock bulb I already have!
