Italian Bike Show

A few of us rode to an Italian bike show in Massachusetts today. Here are a few pics. Show was mostly dominated by Guzzi, then Duc, then Aprilia. Also a few Bimota, a couple Laverda, MV Augusta, Moto Morini, Benelli, etc.

Here's Guzzi's "spyder" . Didn't know such a creature existed. Also a custom frame/body Guzzi. Buell type discs in the front.

Ingredients 800 Monster, 20 sharpies, and 70 hours of free time. Woman who owns the bike said she laughs when people say they don't see many of the "sharpie edition."

The Euros love their sidecars. Never saw a sidecar trials bike before. The next bike looks old but is really 1990's or newer. The Gilera is not something you see everyday, nor is the Benelli. Speaking of Benelli. the old 750 Sei doesn't look to hard to work on for a 6 cylinder. Thinking its quicker to do the valves than the Ninja. What you see is what you get.

Aprilia might be the best sounding bike IMO. OK, we can't all have Italian bikes so my buddy and I ride Japanese. Some older bikes.

Various Ducati. At the end of the show the most expensive bike there (Desmosedicci) was leaking oil into its lower fairing. Top left pic, sitting pretty before the leak was noticed. A couple guys pulled the CF off and looked for the source of the leak. Didn't want to take a pic of someone's problem (especially when its a > $60K machine leaking badly). Also MV Augusta, top right.

Yeah some stuff you just don't see. I figured no need to take pics of 848/1198, 696 etc. Should have gotten the laverda and augusta though. I went to the British bike show earlier in the year, but I think this was better as it the old and new Ital stuff is cool. There seems to be less lineage from old Brit iron to today's Triumph for instance, than old Duc to new Duc, and old Guzzi to new Guzzi.

Missed a huge Euro bike show in Boston last week, but the ride wouldn't have been as good. This was a great ride through 75 miles of country roads each way.
