Next time it rains I'm gonna bring a rubber ducky and safety-wire it to my fairing.

Perfect weather yesterday. Razees plans to do 2 days next year. Try to make them as they have a discounted rate $175 and raffled off an Aria Signet Q, a set of tires, astars gloves, tire gauge, snap on torque wrench, and chain lube. Really good time they put on . Only one red flag the whole day and of all things it was on the first session, blue group, follow the leader as an instructor pitted out and slipped on the white line that separates the straight from the pit lane. Go figure. We pulled off a minute and that was the last red flag of the day, and it was in minute 1.

Sunday pix are up.

Some good ones of Ant getting his lean on.

Mine show me getting a bit lower on the bike, which is good.

Check out picture 319 I have good body position and my feet are even back on the pegs. Thank you Andrew for the linky and there are a few pics of me following you into some of the turns. Jenn gets the prize for most photos but it was her birthday so I guess she deserves the extra attention. Too bad he did not get many pics of us on the one dry session we did where we really could lean over-- oh well Next time!

What is that big bright light in the sky? It scares me!

Nice angle. Watching the suspension work is mesmerizing.

Not sure. I didn't feel to comfortable into one for some reason. Ill post up someone video later. I think I was braking earlier but not fully. If that makes sense. Left a lot of speed "on the table" coming into one. I think I gassed it hard out of three and sometimes made passes going into four that made a need for hard braking there. However I often ran very left from 3-4. Last session ken c showed me a better line to the right out of 3.

Yeah... I find that most people hug the left out of 3. Most passes I made (red group) were to the right on the run up into 4 because people are skeered of the hairpin.

I found myself leaving speed on the table in going down the straight, through 6, and into 7. Those were the places where I gained the most on my second day back in July.

3:00 session with a tow by Ken C around the 3:40 mark.
I find a lot of people slow up a lot into 4 which gives room to pass on the left, but if not making a pass then the right is a shorter route.

Back to Thomson this Friday. Running the shorter course - immediate right after turn 3 and then to the bridge. Kind of looking forward to it, though unlike most others I like turn 4.

I like turn 4 too.

Take video... I want to see what the short course looks like. I bet it'll be really cool, because you can't really see it until you're already transitioning out of 3.

I think I'm going to head up Saturday to spectate a bit.

Dam job. Sheesh. Wish I could play hooky.

I'll bet the trackside camera angles from the bridge are going to be awesome.

Good time today. Will post up some bid Sunday or Monday. The good thing about shorter track was a real cool left right left for turns 3-5. The bad is no passing turns 3-5. I think they will run short and long next year and maybe even reverse direction of they can fix some runoff.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Full Disclosure: I didn't mean to do this, I just didn't want to asspack the rider in front of me. Honestly... this was caused by switching bikes between sessions, 250 vs. r6. I was riding the r6, but using my braking markers for the 250.

@csmith12, you are a very talented rider. I think I would of been wiping my leathers out and picking my bike off the grass.
You are very modest and, sometimes you should show us your true talent
its OK we know you are that good.... we just want to see the master and our teacher at work.

Maybe next season I will play around more, get it on vid and be a little less modest about it. I played around a bit out of my normal while riding with chone. He posted the one vid of me dragging fingers through turn 1 but he should have some other fun video of our last couple of sessions that he must be keeping to himself. lol

You know about the magic triangle, right?

A the exit of turn 5 the new pavement meets the old track several feet past the apex marker cone. the join forms a black triangle pointing down the track, and it's easy to see in your onboard videos. If you aim for that and get close, your exit ought to be good. You nailed it most of the time.

The more room you give it under the middle of the bridge, the easier it is to come down on it at the right angle. That's why you see the CRs and instructors going way out in the middle of that turn.

I love the camera angle. Could you post a photo of your mounting setup?

I gotta get me a gopro......

Hit the X, quick flick and exit tight or late apex turn 4, that would be my plan. Should set you up nicely for 5 with plenty of time. And... apex later in 9 and you can get a great drive outta 10. Your doing great! Can't wait to get back up there!

EDIT: The rider in white leathers does what I am talking about. The main difference between him and you is the steering rate (quick flick) into turn 4 sets him up nicely for 5.

I will be taking the 300 in the spring to work on body positions and turns. Its cheap fun.

get a contour like what csmith has, it's smaller lighter has better battery life and has better mounts, it's also cheaper. I got a drift which is similarly priced but if I could go back I'd get a contour instead as it's just a better camera

@csmith12 that r6's brakes will stop you, that's for damn sure

You know what is really crazyloco? I make up nearly half the front straight distance to the rider in front of me in the braking zone. Something to think about....

^ you could have passed him there too if you weren't so preoccupied with not smacking into him with how much later you braked

brakes win races and brakes save lives, but they do neither if you don't know how to use them

The more room you give it under the middle of the bridge, the easier it is to come down on it at the right angle. That's why you see the CRs and instructors going way out in the middle of that turn.

I love the camera angle. Could you post a photo of your mounting setup?

I gotta get me a gopro......
Will do. It's just low on the fairing. Suction cup mount.

Nice riding sir, that is lowside land over there and line adjustments midcorner in that area doesn't help one bit.

I was about to say "I wasn't taking chances being so far from home without a driver to make it back", but then I realize.... I am on one wheel. But... "I didn't mean to do that", that is my story and I am sticking to it.
