Talking New member from Ontario, Canada.

Hello forum, new member here, thought I should introduce myself ! I started browsing around this site since I decided to pick up a used 250 Ninja as my first bike. For being such a small bike I am loving the aggressive look and design.
I'm quite active on the BMW forums so I'm expecting that I will be on here quite a bit as well once things start rolling and I am riding more often.
This past Tuesday I finally found the right one for me, and picked up a clean 2010 Ninja 250 with 2500km (1550miles) on the clock, barely ridden, not abused, never dropped.

I'm already planning some minor changes such as fender eliminator and a blacked out windscreen, all ideas that I found in the DIY section on here (Super helpful!).
I'm a big fan of plastidip and have worked quite a bit with it on my car ( mirrors, bumper valence, roof, etc. )

Have always been very happy with the results, I am definitely excited to try out some bigger projects on a bike.

I may be doing all the farings + tank in matte red to see how I like the look, any thoughts/opinions on that ?

I do have a friend who had been riding for a long time, so he'll be a good teacher but I've been on dirt bikes and mopeds before - albeit almost 10 years ago now when I was just a kid, so It'll just be a matter of remembering and getting use to it again.

Welcome aboard. I love your BMW! Looks like you found a mint Ninja 250. I bought my 09 with only 2800kms from a good friend who was upgrading. I'm not sure what to think of matte red. I'm of the opinion to leave the paint stock unless you are fixing damaged parts. Custom paint jobs normally reduce resale value and have buyers questioning damage history.

Thanks ! And I agree with you on losing resale value when changing the original colour, however with plastidip it could be easily removed at any time and it would even protect the original paint that's underneath.

I don't know if we're allowed to link to other forums on here but this is an example of what I'd like to do in red.

I've got to admit to not really being familiar with plastidip. I've only seen it in matte black. Matte red sounds interesting. I have 2 friends with matte paintjobs on their Kawasaki Z1000s. One is silver and one is blue, both are OEM. The downside to the finish is not being able to wax it. Keep us up to date if you start the project. Enjoy your new bike.
