Question Strange Idle Issue

Something I've been meaning to ask you guys for a while now. Firstly, my bike is Fuel injection before anybody goes on about carbs.

Ever since I got my Bike Dyno'd, Whenever I start up the bike idles as should at ~2k Revs...

Then when i begin to drive and turn the throttle the bike revs climb and go up to say 5/6k (only if i turn the throttle) and stay there even when i let go of the throttle, and if i let go of the clutch i would be propelled forward. I have to control it by going hard on the brakes or by just pulling the clutch in and letting it rev high.

Once it warms up after around 5 mins however, this doesn't happen.

So basically, my bike becomes very dangerous at start up if i just get on and ride. It's 100% temperature related, but i've no idea how to fix it, this never happened before when it was stock.

Any Ideas?

Hi Jason, many guys in Germany had the same symptom and this is no problem.
When I remember it correct then in the manual it's written to get the Ninja warm-up at least for one minute before you start to ride and all the guys in Germany didn't have this no more after they did just this - warm her up.
Some also had to correct the idle-rpm to 1250 +/- 50 rpm.
By the way I never had that symptom, because I start her then take my helmet, put the gloves on and then I start riding - always fine.

Throttle position sensor maybe?, or another sensor? Sorry not up on my FI motos.

If it was car that's what I'd be looking at, air temperature sensor? Along with what I've already stated above, and plug up to the ECM and see if there's any error codes.

Good luck mate.
