Hair toss, question for the ladies

As part of my safe driving practices when riding, I usually look through the vehicle in front of me to see what they are seeing out their windshield. Especially when stopped at a light. This lets me see what most people would considered to be blocked from sight.

This has happened so many times, well, I had to ask.

The great preponderances of young female drivers will toss their hair at stop lights, or while waiting in traffic.

So ladies, is this because you have nothing better to do with your hands when sitting at a stop light...

or is this because a purple and yellow sport bike ridden by some mystery dude is right behind you? DON'T LOOK... is he still there? Did he rev that thing, better toss my hair again.

School me, what's the 411

I only do it if I am having withdrawals from flipping pancakes in the kitchen..

Seriously, I don't get why they do. I pull mine back and roll down the Windows so the wind can blow in my face

If it were a once a week thing, I wouldn't have even thought about it, but it's nearly every single day. One of the lights, on my commute in, or out and I'll get a "tosser". Who knows, maybe it's the same girl, going to work at the same time...

just an observation, i had to ask.

You should record it every time and make a compilation video of girls flipping their hair while sitting at a red light

Which suburb are you in? I'm from the Chicago suburbs- moved out a year ago

Sorry, no help here, either! I'll run my fingers through it while it's drying, to avoid it drying in a flat sad lump, but that's about it. Once it's dried, I pull it back and done.

Maybe there's a good song on her radio.

I am obviously a master of hair management.

I know why. But I'm not telling.

It's to kind of reorganize it. Men with long hair do it just as often, and I used to have beautiful long hair.

Why is this only a question to the ladies?!? As a child of the 60's & 70's: hair flipping was a necessity! I'd still do it but for obvious reasons

When I still had the hair to do it (....and I'm still under 30. sad times), and in a configuration that permitted it, I'm sure I flipped mine occasionally. Oddly enough, I think I still do the motion sometimes, though it's not conscious enough for to pinpoint when or why. Just feels right I guess?

Metallica is a lot like Samson. They lost their hair, and their power to produce music worth listening to.

Thumbs up

I wondered why folks without the proper amount of hair looked like they were trying to flip it... I always thought it was the emperors new hairdo

I found the more time goes by the less new "music" seems remotely musical

Rappers mumble and pass off zibba zabba zuppa zuppa zuuuuu as music

I sometimes reposition my hair when stopped at the lights. If left to its own devices my hair likes to go frizzy and make knots.

Of course perhaps i was being a little naughty accidently on purpose.

Funny story, had a foreign exchange student from England in a class in high school, sat right behind me.

one day she taps me on the shoulder and asks me if I have a "rubber"

JACKPOT!!!

until she points to the end of her pencil where the ERASER had used up.

though we speak the same language, we do not

I encountered that very same "rubber" situation in middle school (6-8th grade), though she had just relocated from Australia.

America seems to be the strangest former colony, linguistically at least.

another funny story.

the Brits parked their submarine (The Scepter) outboard us in Charlston, S.C.

of course they have beer on their boats so we would 'pop over for a pint' after work.

one of the Brits said, "well gents, I'm going topside to suck a fag"
