I run those foamies as well as autocom helmet speakers and the combo works great. The speakers are right on the other side of the earplugs and still can be heard fine, though the volume does need to be moderately loud.

Good video as well; I also see many folks that don't insert 'em properly...

I can't see the video at work, but had a revelation this weekend when I got it right. It was so much better and more secure in my ear. Now that I figured it out it is easy to do right, and so much more effective.

I had one back out the one time (when I did it wrong), and it actually made things louder than no ear plugs at all, very painful.

another trick for easier insertion (heh heh) is to get the ear plug a little wet after rolling it up. get the end going in your ear wet with your mouth and it'll slip right in there.

maybe thats kinda gross, but it works!

i used to work for the local news paper (orlando sentinel) and any time i had to go into the press rooms or warehouse we were required to wear these. got proper instruction back then. never really use them on the bike though. i just wear noise cancelling ear buds and listen to audio books.

good video. in the army, that is how they taught us to insert the disposable plugs. after you fire off your first round of ammo, you will know if you inserted it properly or not

Not here! Working around jets in The Air Force they also tought us the correct way to insert them and the fact that one size does not fit all. Some people have small ear canals while others are larger. Ours were color coded for the different sizes.

The Military probably sent you to a class on how to insert ear plugs.

So, I decided to "practice what I was preaching" and bought some disposable ones at CVS and followed "my" instructions. Bottom line, I could only get the right side to stay in place. Since I'm a pack rat, I drug out my reusable ear plugs, which were issued to me 39 years ago for my M-16 training in the Army. Inserted one in my left ear and went for a ride.

Wow, what a difference! I didn't realize how noisy the bike is, even with the snorkel back in place (No, kkim, I'm not doing a DIY for reinstalling the snorkel; however, I did find a unique tool to help do it!).

Broom, I even tried wetting the %^#* thing. It went right in and after holding it in place for an eternity, it came right out when I took my finger away.

I watched "Max" lick them and put them in his ears before the WSB race. I guess he only uses the once.

Thankfully got used to inserting these things at work. I wear them quite a bit every day as our high velocity dryers at work are LOUD! (petstylist, lol)
