Fashion question for the ladies
Okay, guys can chime in too, if so inclined...
I have a First Gear mesh jacket in white (way cooler in this obscene heat), but it's now too big, as I've lost quite a few pounds since I bought it. New Enough had the same model jacket on closeout for a ridiculously low forty bucks, so I bought a smaller one. They were out of the white, so I got the yellow/gray, but when it came I realized that with my red bike and that color jacket, all I can think of is ketchup and mustard. Stupid, I know, but anyway.....I want to return it and pick another color. The jacket is still on closeout, but in limited color choices for the size I want: black (NO!), silver/black (drab and yucky and probably too hot), and pink/white. I'm not much of a "pink" person, but I actually like the look of the pink/white one. HOWEVER, and here is my question: will the pink jacket look like crap with the red bike? I've had some people tell me it's clash-y. Frankly, it's not my favorite color combo, pink and red, but I don't think it's TERRIBLE. I know, some of you are thinking I should suck it up and spend some freaking money already, right? But jeez, forty bucks is too hard to pass up, and I already know that like the jacket a lot. I like the 2010 model of it a bit better, but it'd cost me 100 bones over and ABOVE the credit for the returned jacket. So......opinions? Posted via Mobile Device |

I'd get the silver/black and live with it. that color combo will go with any bike color in your future.

I'm one who doesn't give a crap if I match my bike or not. I mean, I wear my pink jacket on my bright yellow bike, sometimes with my silver helmet...or I may wear my bright yellow helmet on my blue "Lil Ninj", so don't ask me. lol! Really though, do you know of any pink jackets that match the standard 250 bike colors? They're tough to find, so I wouldn't sweat it. JMHO.

My wife has the silver/black combo... It's not flashy, as you say, but it looks acceptable with most any color. Congrats on the weight loss, B.T.W.!

It would help if you could find the same jacket or something close in color and have a pic taken with your bike at their establishment. That might help you make a decision but for that low price you have nothing to lose.

Like BlueRaven said at that price you can't lose. I think the pink and white would look good with your red bike as long as it only has "splashes" of pink.
Oh and if you could post pics of the two jackets that would help. |

I checked out the colors @ New Enough. Personally I would prefer the "Silver/Black" as the option of choice. Notice there are many sizes available for the "Pink/White", tells me its not as popular as the other colors (why am I not surprised??)... Kim says the color matching with Silver and Black is a lot easier... yes so true. Also take into account that the amount of silver panels you have and limited black accents will in fact bounce some of that sun away from you much like the white did. Colors of course will soak in some of that god awful heat we are having. Keeping it clean will also be a bonus So sister for the price Silver/Black is my vote!!!!!! Remember "Pink stinks"...

If you want to be color coordinated, you could always paint your bike to match the jacket.
By the way, still rollerderby-ing, or did you give that up? |

I definitely don't "match" my bike. My leathers are pink and silver (not because I "like" pink but because I am definitely SEEN when I'm wearing my leathers!) and my bike is candy plasma blue. I also have a bright gold prism helmet with white/silver gloves. So, I probably look clashy but if those cagers see me then it's worth the stares.

Paint your bike pink. I've seen ninjettes that color. They look good. Have it match the jacket.

Okay, I'll admit......I'm only considering the pink over the gray because it's more girly. I'm no spring chicken at 48, plus I LIKE people knowing I'm a female on a sport bike. Yes, I am an attention 'ho....big time. The gray and black one is just soooo blah. I think I'll go for the Valentine's Day look after all.
I'm ashamed to admit this, but I've yet to get back on skates since I broke my butt. Here I am, with all this gear (including padded shorts, now), and I'm chicken. It's pathetic, I know. One day I'll just up and go.....hopefully before Medicare kicks in. Posted via Mobile Device |

No offense, but we'll know you're a girl LONG before you take off the helmet! It's something about the way your hips, fit the seat. You can tell it's a woman on the bike, well before you arrive.

Well that's just fine....no offense at all! I mean, between my gray mesh riding pants and my (dare I say it?) black Harley Davidson riding boots, I sometimes think I look mannish. Okay, a very short man, with (currentlly) auburn curls sticking out of the helmet, but mannish nonetheless.

I would say go for the pink too. I would pick any color over neutrals to give more visibility... well and I like pink too :P

Another 1 bites the dust...... and another ones gone.. and another ones gone... another one bites the dust.... boom boom boom.... remember you may think silver and black is mannish.... but the hips and boobs in these jackets show otherwise.... instead of relying on that god awful "pink" to illustrate womanliness. Besides pink and white adds the pounds... silver and black slims the body.... now how do you feel about that????? hmmmm?
