Buying a bike you only kinda want to make it easier to buy the bike you really want is like taking the expressway to bankruptcy. All the ideas your posting in this thread involve throwing money away (most of which you don't have yet). At this point it's obvious that paying cash won't happen with you, so have you considered selling the ninja and using that money as a down payment?

Bent Ninja.
I'm not going to pawn it off on anyone. I've been sold crashed bikes in the dark before. My all black R6. (duh!) Sucks ass to be on the receiving end and have to learn that the hard way. another reason not to buy USED unless you know 10,000% exactly what you are looking at every single part on your motorcycle in the broad daylight and test ride it. Being a mechanic I'm straight frightened by how some of these bikes don't explode on the freeway. lol

There's nothing wrong with selling the bike like that, just tell them whats wrong with it.

It's perfect besides the frame and forks. lol $1200 later in brand new parts you'll be good as new. I already replaced the rims and brake rotors and brakes and a bunch of plastic and bent fairing stays and I have lots of parts yet to put on for when the new frame is put on (if ever) like head bearings and more fairing stays. I spent as much repairing it as the bike cost, at least. Still has a bent frame and fork.. and one bad fairing or two. Asking $3000. It's a "street legal stuntbike", ready to rock and roll. Clip ons, rearsets, gearing, I wore the BT016 tires down like race takeoffs int he twisties so plenty of rubber left in the center lol everything adjusted perfectly because it's a mechanics bike. She's a lil screamer. I ride her hard with a bent frame and she don't know. OBO Don't even really want to sell it. I want to keep it and romp around my front yard learning massive amounts of accurate low speed bike/clutch/throttle/balance/brake control and tricks. you guys want a 500 engine in your 250 to make it a sleeper I just change sprockets lol.

We're talking new in cash Vs financing. Or my used crashed bike for sale. haha I repaired it good though she runs excellent.
If I put two brand new fairings on it I could sell it as uncrashed but I'd hate myself forever. Can't bring myself to be the people who did it to me. In that respect, do you all truly know what has happened to your used bike? That's why I buy new now. Unless I knew the previous owner and the bike's history. Half the time the reason they have flush mounts and clip ons is because it's been dropped. I prefer stock blinkers mostly. Bigger bikes include clip ons. When I go look at a 05 750 with a dent in the radiator beneath the plastics and the guy is telling me it's never been crashed, I get sick of it waaay too quick. People are flat out liars. New all the way when you want something you know you can trust and maintain on your own without questions as to what it's been through.

Well, they only have one left now.
Looks like I won't have the $1k in time before they sell it. I was down there talking to them again today. He's in no hurry to sell me a bike. Here's the last one they have with my helmet on it lol This time I sat on it. Didn't feel bad at all to me. Felt like a little tiny 250 street bike.. I think it had upgraded carbon fiber decals and a rear seat eliminator on it. It is upgraded. I wouldn't mind sporting that bike for a bit at all. Think I'm too late though.

Hate to jump on the pig pile, but I'll throw in my two cents: financing is evil. The only thing worse than financing is financing thru the dealer. If you absolutely have to finance, then try to secure the financing on your own. I belong to a credit union, and went to them to finance my cage. I was recently separated from my ex-wife, and she kept our only car. So I was in dire need of a vehicle to get to work. The rate on the loan will probably be better than what the dealer can offer. It'll take a little leg (or phone) work on your end, but its worth it to save those few precious dollars that you'd otherwise pay to the dealer and/or their financing institution.
