Just sold my 2008 ninja 250 after 3 years

I am no longer with my sweet ninja.

I just sold it and now I'm bikeless.

Currently shopping around for something but I don't know what exactly, I just know I want it to have a "street fighter" look and its gotta be 400cc's and up...

I got these in mind;
- Triumph street triple
- Yamaha FZ8
- or ?

I'm also considering a super moto type bike;
- Suzuki 400 DRZ SM
- Ducati hypermotard
- Aprillia Shiver
... etc.

What do you guys think ?

street triple or drz 400

street triple because it's the sexy naked and it has very linear usable power. Great bike all around.

drz 400 because hooligan

Street Triple!

Because Sexy! And hooligan, yet the perfect do-it-all bike. I'd really like to own one someday. But around here they are kinda hard to find used.

Extremely poor cornering clearance. Not much of an advantage compared to just buying a FZ1 of the same year. Either the new FZ-09, or even the new FZ-07 both get much better reviews and feedback than the FZ8 did.

Thanks for the feedback guys and gals.

I was wondering about the FZ8. I never hear anyone really talk about it but for some reason, something was drawing me to it.

My top 3 to pick:
-Street Triple
-Shiver
-DRZ 400 SM

Test drive is probably the best advice.

As a side note, anyone know anything about the FZ8 ?
Also, any other bike's I should be looking at ?

The biggest problem with the FZ8 is the new 09 lol.

But in all reality the FZ8 was a highly rated bike, it took the middle ground between the 06 and the 01 and tried to make it inexpensive. The 06/01 were both good bikes so it was destined to be at least decent. Been on one but not for enough seat time to really give you much of a personal report.

So many choices...

I've found a used 2008 Aprilia Shiver 750 (8,000km on it) being sold for $6,200 (taxes in and all). I talked to the guy and saw the bike, it looks good. No damage or anything.

What do you guys think about this bike ?
(I've read it has a small dealer network and hard to find parts but is it true there are reliability issues with Aprilia Shivers?)

Now days Shivers are pretty solid but 2008 is the first year it was out and I think there might have been some recalls. As much as I like my Aprilia and it being more reliable and less labor intensive than other Italian brands, I'd avoid that '08. Especially for that price (MSRP for a '15 is 8699 And it's not hard to find a leftover '14 at a dealership for cheaper because Aprilia sucks at marketing here).

Have you looked into something like a KTM 690 duke? I test rode one last year and think it's a pretty fun bike. Light enough that I could lean the bike around with just my knees (lighter than the 250 I think; certainly felt that way). The only thing that took a bit getting used to is that it's a single and lower RPM feels funky.

The Shiver is a great bike, but more of a roadie - if you're looking for Supermotos the Dorsoduro may interest you. It shares the basics with the Shiver but in SuMo Trim.

I sat on one some time ago, it's a nice bike. Except the fat ass with the stock exhaust pipes. Seat is fairly high, I have 32 Inseam and I could not completely flatfoot it on both sides. Tank is only 12L so it has a fairly short range.
