Just keep in mind that was my first ever time drag racing anything. I got better with the launches today.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Best run:

Reaction time: 0.421
60FT: 2.323
Trap speed: 118.49 KM/h
Elapsed time: 9.779

Second best run:

Reaction time: 0.258
60FT: 2.283
Trap speed: 114.48 KM/h
Elapsed time: 9.795

The 3rd clip is the actual race, the 2001 R1 next to me almost didn't catch up, but he got me at the end and I was eliminated

Nice and I really like the sound of your bike @Linkin
But from what I think the gear ratio from 1st to 2nd gear isn't good enough, because the rpms are falling to low.
Good luck and many fun with your bike

Could be gearing but the clutch has a short travel/is very grabby. It's not set up for dragging, I was just having some fun.

However, we do have enough parts to build another FZR as a dedicated drag bike

Hmmmm. So 114 kph in 9.7 seconds. That puts your 0-60 right around what, 8.5-9 seconds?! Ouch. I always thought those were faster than the ninjette.

Great sound though!! Are you shifting with or without the clutch? Sounds like without because of the little spike in rpm's between gears.

I doubt I'm riding the bike to its potential. Someone more experienced at drags could post a better time. Once I get a bit more practice in I should get better. I also have the advantage of weighing under 60KG (without gear). The bike is built for chucking around corners at 10K+ RPM.

What's a Ninja 250 get on the 0-60?

I've also been thinking about doing launches in second gear, to avoid a later gear change.

6.25 seconds if you're light and good a dumping the clutch. Most people can manage somewhere around 6.75-7.0 seconds without much issue.

I have raced the four cylinder bikes at Maxton. They are not much faster than the ninja. Maybe 114 and I went 112.

The problem with the ninja is the steel frame and street brakes. I think I was making 34 hp and they might make 36. For drag racing it torque. And the ninja has that over the 19000 rpm I-4
