2007 ninja No start CDI issue
Good Afternoon, I'm new to this forum so if in the wrong spot mods feel free to remove.
2007 Ex250F - Not starting -- Coils are not being powered up but are tested with multimeter, and within correct spec. Kill switch, and ignition switch are in proper working order, also tested with multimeter. Check fuses in junction box also using multimeter, and they also test good. Stator Pickup Coil also tested good. Battery is reading 12.6v-13v. However, when testing the grey wire out of the pigtail (picture attached), it shows I am only getting 10.38V going to the CDI. Has anyone else here on this forum had the same issue not getting 12v to the CDI? Really frustrated with this -- any input would be appreciated, thank you! https://i.postimg.cc/cJyhN2gF/IMG-2740.jpg |

If that grey wire is the one from ignition switch, it has a 100 ohm resistor feeding it, hence the voltage drop. The TCI unit won't function without that resistor, as an anti-hotwiring feature.

Most likely your main issue is lack of power to coils. Track than down and fix so you have power to coils and bike should run properly. |
