Rear Wheel Stand for 250r

Hey guys, I am looking for anyone who happen to have a rear wheel stand for my Kawasaki 250r 2012. I am looking for anyone who has one laying around not being used or just planning to sell their old one to me. I am not trying to pay retail prices they have online. thank you !

Here's what I got just a few months ago, I use the rubber covered attachments for the rear under the swingarm, had to make my own pin to use the front stand without hitting the underside of the fairing. Both stands cheaper than name brand rear only.

I was gonna weld up some scrap metal to make my own. Then found that eBay set so inexpensive that it wasn't worth my time doing it for free! Here's a rear stand for $25.

I have a cheap unit from harbor freight tools ( item#65620 ) that has adjustable channels that hook under the swing arm. Finally manned up and bough a rear stand and the required spools....Now if I can only remember to remove my spools before I ride.

I live in Bakersfield CA, care to buy? I think they are $30 new...I'd pawn it for $20 if shipping/transport can be figured out. PM me.

VERY VERY cool but at that price (plus shipping to the US) it's too steep for me. More than the Bursig stand.

But then I got to thinking... the trick part of this is those omnidirectional wheels. Are they proprietary? Turns out they're not. They're readily available and not that expensive. So I immediately emailed Pit-Bull with URLs and said they should consider making something like this. Even at Pit-Bull prices, the result would be a lot less expensive for riders in the US.

Only if countries involved have treaties with reciprocal agreements for their patent offices.

Depends on exactly what's patented. The key element... the wheels... are not made by dynamoto. The folks at Pit-Bull are ex NASA engineers. I'm sure they can come up with a good solution if they like the idea.

Got a very prompt reply.....

Quote:
Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the feedback about our products. I'm not sure if it was a sales rep for Rotacaster, but we were approached by someone a while back about adding this to a Pit Bull stand. They even sent sample wheels for testing. We thought it was a cool idea, but honestly we didn't think it would sell well once the cost was added to our stand that's already on the higher end of the market.

There were some usability concerns as well, but I don't want to get into anything that would be perceived as bashing a competitor. We just didn't feel like it was a good fit for us, but we can certainly appreciate a competitor that brings something new(not a knock off) to the market.

I am certain their wheels could be installed on our stands if you were so inclined, but it's not something we'd be pursuing in the foreseeable future. Thanks again for the suggestion though. Have a great day!

Why would you need to remove your swingarm spools to ride? I can guarantee nearly every single track rider has spools and not a single one removes them while riding.

Those dynamoto stands are awesome, but too pricey for me. Maybe they'll get cheaper in the future.

like frame sliders, if you go down, its another hard pointy bit that can hook on something and cause your bike to tumble....usually results in absolute destruction.

That seems mighty unlikely to me. For one thing, unlike frame sliders, spools are not likely to hit the ground. I know from dropping my bike in the driveway... without frame sliders at the time... that the spools were nowhere near touching down.

Nevertheless, possible in some kind of weird circumstance, I guess.

What makes me skeptical is the thought that the bolts holding the spools on would hold up and "trip" the bike. They're not that large. I think they'd snap before they imparted enough force to flip the bike.

On my bike with folding pegs, low-side crash did rub off 8mm from lower corner of spook. And ground off 10mm from shifter peg. Along with hole through fairing and 5mm off the alternator cover. No rearset or frame damage!

No hooking or flipping! Those are more related to high-sides and it’s flipping regardless of sliders or spools.
