Rear Stand - Good Deal

"hello?"

"hi, Mr. Broom. we're just calling to let you know your rear stand is here and ready to be picked up"

"nice. Thanks!"

2 minutes later

"hello?"

"hi, Mr. Broom. I'm sorry, but i made a mistake and your order won't be in for a couple more days."

"damn."

i got all excited for nothing. if anyone needs a rear stand (for spools), this one from northern tool looks like a good buy. if you have one in your area, you can get them to send it to the store for the online price and you'll save on shipping (but have to pay taxes i guess).

Thanks that looks like a great deal. I wish I needed another one. But I might just get it anyways.

Nice find, thanks for posting. This is the same stand that I bought 8 of from another supplier for $90 each. Just ordered two more

just picked up mine last night. you have to either drill a hole to secure the part that holds the bike, or spot weld it. i guess you could get away with just letting it sit in there, but seems like it'd be a pain.

its kind of hard to explain what it is i'm talking about. maybe i can post up a pict.

The 2 movable forks that adjust to fit your swingarm spools should have locking hex bolts. Just loosen them, adjust, then tighten. Yours doesn't have them?

Hmmmm... the caps that sit on top of the stand legs should also have an allen bolt. Must be missing on these cheap ones. Maybe a dab or two of JB Weld?

yeah, i'm sure JB weld would probably do the trick. heres a pict of ours. its not a very good one, but you can see where we welded it in the front. it was a bitch to get it to take the weld too.

I used 2 part metal epoxy from Home Depot. Applied around the circumference of the top pieces, then slid them on and let them set for 24 hours. Works like a champ For $40 ea, these are a steal.
