The 2022 Zero SR/S Is One of the Most Capable Electric Sports Tourers Out There

Contents
The 2022 Zero SR/S offers everything you’d expect from a sports EV motorcycle — a potent powertrain, cutting-edge design, and impeccable functionality. The sports tourer is the flagship offering in the 2022 Zero Motorcycle lineup and received several significant updates this year.

For starters, Zero Motorcycles made some notable updates to its Cypher operating system. The Cypher III+ Operating System now offers downloadable, real-time updates from a new Cypher Store. Customers can now tweak charging speeds and access better performance via the Zero app. The updated Zero SR/S also offers onboard navigation.

The American company has also made notable updates to the battery system on the 2022 Zero SR/S. The improved ZF batteries can be upgraded to offer 20 percent more capacity and come in a new die-cast aluminum design that enables better thermal management and weatherproofing.

The battery is available in two versions — a ZF14.4+ with the Standard model and ZF15.6+ with the Premium model. With the optional Power Tank add-on, battery capacity can be increased to 20.9kWh. The Standard also takes longer to charge, with a 0-100% charge time of 4.5 hours. On the other hand, the Premium will achieve a full charge in a claimed 2.7 hours.

In the top-spec (including the Power Tank), the Zero SR/S is capable of a claimed 227-mile range in the city and 113 miles on the highway (at 70mph).

The Z-Force 75-10 motor produces impressive figures with a peak power output of 110hp and maximum torque of 140 ft-lb, enough to propel the bike to a top speed of 124mph.

The 2022 Zero SR/S starts at $20,595 USD / $26,595 CAD.

EFFORTLESS CONNECTION

The SR/F is the world’s first fully “smart” motorcycle. A customizable dash and Zero’s next-generation app already come with a host of amazing free features that communicate critical information anytime, anywhere. Thanks to the revolutionary operating system, Cypher III+, the app also unlocks a world of on-demand upgrades through a virtual marketplace, as well. Incredibly light. Unbelievably strong. The steel-trellis frame, custom swingarm and advanced Showa suspension deliver an athletic and intuitive riding experience. The powertrain is perfectly distributed, resulting in a weight-optimized/mass-centralized design, while a dual radial front brake system makes shedding speed as exhilarating as building it.
