Hmmm, one time I didn't have time to wait for stuff to come in due to race that weekend. What I did was just cut head off 20mm bolt and welded threaded section to existing rod.
Eventually these showed up. Both ends were right-hand threads, but once adjusted to proper length, no need to change. So no big deal. Got two complete sets of rods + ends for about U$D 8.50 each. One set on bike and spare in toolbox. http://www.ebay.com/itm/172252462236 http://www.ebay.com/itm/352063383949 I was able to actually help guy in Expert 250 class who blew up his R3's engine on Sat. and needed bike on Sunday. He bought used N250R from another racer and needed to replace shift-rod. Luckily, I just happen to have one he could use for Sunday's race. How about cutting it in half and extending it with a piece of tubing and a couple welds?

Can't find a welding shop here that would take up the job.

Found two brands "Kuryakyn" and "cycle vision" but the shipping cost is absurd. This is not including import tax. If i could find a pre-owned one it can be declared as used item hence the import tax is not imposed.

what about using a piece of all-thread from a hardware store? It will be metric but not expensive for 6" or so. I think (vaguely) its M6 1.0 thread...correct me please-

Tricky part is one end needs left-hand threads.
Or you can just use two right-hand ball-joints. |

yeah, that's what I do too. Easier and cheaper to find double right-hand threaded rod. Chop to right length and install same rod-end on both ends. Once set correct length and lock it down, I haven't had to re-adjust anyway. Even if needed, it's not that big a deal to unbolt one rod-end.

Sorry for replying this really late. Haven't got the time to measure (quite busy) and I have totally forgotten this thread which I created.
JacRyann, I have already solved the problem by bringing the footpeg a little closer to the shift linkage by using the holes of the rearset. Sorry for not replying earlier dude and thanks a lot for your help!

Yeay.. .finally!
The footpeg was positioned at the circled placement. I moved the footpeg to where it is now.
