Sidecar racing

I have searched for a bit and have found that there is some sidecar action over on the west coast, but the closest I have found on the east coast is up in canada.

Would any of you more experienced guys that have traveled far and wide to different tracks have any idea if there is any sidecar stuff on the east coast?

Shot in the dark I know :/

I think they do it at Loudon, or at least they did a few years ago.

Which might as well be up in Canada anyway.

Did some Googling and indeed, they are having vintage sidecar races this weekend at Loudon as part of the LRRS Classic. Might just sneak out on Saturday and take a road trip. Something like ten races of all different kinds each day... motards, superbikes, sidecars, the whole bit.

They do some sidecar racing at Mid-Ohio Vintage Days. About 8-10 in the grid, fun to watch, but I can't get anyone to do it with me. Not picky either, will be driver or monkey.

Game?

Looks like that event is about 3 weeks away and is an annual event? Would there be any practice or class? Cause I'm pretty sure I can't operate a sidecar well lol. I don't have enough leave saved up to take some days off so close but may be something I can look into for next year.

You get open practice but no class. I also would be a sidecar n00b, so its all good. And yes, its an annual event every vintage days.

Lets make it happen next year. Should be fun.

They go to NJ, that might be something I can look into. Thanks

@csmith12

My other question would be; do they have vehicles we can use?

No, but I have been itching to buy or build one. I have a friend that can guide me either way as he builds.

From what I understand, it kinda goes like this;

Get bike that fits the rules. (It's vintage days, so most likely an older bike)
Start cutting...
Fabricate sidecar
Attach to bike
Buy tires
Go RACE!
