Was a really good day out, thanks to everyone that showed up. Let's make it happen more often in fall when the temps are perfect.

Today was AWESOME! Thanks Jeff for getting it started!! It was my pleasure to meet such a bunch of great people. Nobody acting stupid or unsafe, everyone smiling and positive about the day, no rain and plenty of twisty roads, no incidents and a speed for everybody...just an ALL AROUND great day and ride.

SOOOOOOO when is the NEXT ONE!?!?!?!?!?

Ironically enough, yesterday was MY first time riding through downtown on the way back, it wasn't so bad...we stayed in the HOV lane the whole time so it was less daunting dealing with 6 lanes of traffic. Normally we would've taken 285 around but they were doing construction and it was stop and go traffic for miles!

jhunter it's a time when you usually pay a flat fee for unlimited runs for a time period. People do runs and then make changes to the car to dial it in for the fastest time. Too bad I can't make it because I we could take the 250s down the quarter. I would race Deviant if he gave me a three second head start.

@fleemos & @DeviantTurtle - I probably could take three and a half seconds and ride my BuSa and still get beat!! BUT Id still have fun!! Would like to try that sometime in the future...I gotta get gear and more seat time...also would like to try some track days on the 250.

I would love to do a track day as well. The main hurdle for me would be the gear needed to get on the track.

Thanks for the Pics DT!!!

Drag strip on a 250 should be pretty easy even with little experience, we don't have to worry about wheelies so it is a lot more forgiving. I might not make it this time but I am in for a future drag strip visit.

The only gear you need to be able to run at the strip is helmet, gloves, long sleeve shirt, pants and shoes that cover the ankle You would not need a full race suite unless you plan on breaking into the low 9s? I just like running to see if my bike is where it should be stock...Consistant 12.5s 108mph is what i run, going to run Meems bike also to see if the aftermarket exhuast gave her real world adventages

Gotchya... that would be fun... It would be interesting to get a bunch of 250's there to see how they vary based on the mods folks have done.

I was thinking gear for a track day, I was told, full leathers, full gloves, full boots.

Does anyone have a link to the drag test day?

Thanks,

Jeff

The following are requirements for street legal motorcycles:
1. Drivers MUST have a full face helmet meeting the SNELL 2005 rating.
2. Driver must have leather jacket.
3. Driver must have leather pants if 120mph or faster.
4. Driver must wear full finger leather gloves.
5. Driver must have leather high top shoes or boots.
6. Motorcycle must have a chain guard.
7. Motorcycle must have working taillight.
8. Nitrous oxide is allowed, if securely mounted-DOT regulated.
9. Slicks are allowed.
10. No three-or four-wheelers of any kind.
11. If you run quicker than 9.99 seconds you must have an NHRA license.

Link; http://www.atlantadragway.com/apcm/t...0106&zoneid=35

However, I race there at least 10 times a year for the past 15 years and have never been told I could not run because I did not have on leather! Really just ankles, legs, hands/fingers covered.

Little talladega is popular

I have been on road Atlanta but not for a motorcycle track day event...What I have been told about RA, expect to spend around $300, make sure to bring extra parts so if you go down you are not done for the day. Full suite or leathers and learn to drag knee. If any of you would like to learn this I will be happy to couch you by the way
