Problem with taking off stock exhaust

I have all three nuts that tired the end part of the heat shield to the pipe taken off but i am not sure what to do with the tiny screw that tired the front end of the shield to the pipe. That thing just won't come off. Anyone here know want what size that screw is?
And for the muffler am i suppose to just slide it out after taking out the heat shield?
I have just spent hour and half just trying to take these two damn things off with no luck.
