Mellow Group Ride Sunday 3/29 (Bay Area)

I like to share..

Route:
Meet Place: Starbucks at Calaveras & Park Victoria
Route:
Calaveras
Stop and rest at end of Calaveras (Sunol & 680)
Continue on Niles Canyon Rd
Right on Palomares Rd
Left on Paloverde Rd
Left on Castro Valley Rd
Stop and rest at Shell station on corner of Castro Valley Rd & Redwood Rd.
Right on Redwood Rd
Stop and rest at corner of Redwood Rd and Skyline Blvd
Back down Redwood Rd
Left on Castro Valley Rd
We will break for lunch at Top Thai on Castro Valley Road
Continue on Castro Valley Rd
Right on Paloverde Rd
Right on Palomares Rd
Right Niles Canyon Rd
Left at Mission Blvd
Stop at fuel station on corner of Mission Blvd. & Las Palmas Ave. This is the end of the ride.

Some insights:
- Started out with 5 groups, #1 being most spirited, #5 being most mellow
- 1 rider low sided in group #5 on Calaveras, had to be towed back
- Group #3 was pulled over and about 5 of the 8 riders got tickets I believe

Breaking up into groups w/ Leads & Sweeps

There were a total of 4 new-gen 250Rs (all blue ), and 2 Pre-Gen 250s

@ Stop and rest at end of Calaveras (Sunol & 680)

Mr. party pooper... !

@ Stop and rest at corner of Redwood Rd and Skyline Blvd
The official Sign of BARF (Bary Area Riders Forum)

@ Top Thai.. Those of us that ate. Sign outside said "Welcome Mellow Group Ride 3-29-09"

Me and a couple other riders took the freeway back.. all that Thai food made me wanna go

What a great ride besides the low side and the tickets. But a nice day and gorgeous ride to open the spring season for us. Even conquered some uncharted terrain for myself, with parts a bit scary on Calaveras I had to admit.

Thanks for looking!

Eww the 5-0. What did they get booked for?

Also, looked like it would have been heaps of fun, plenty of fantastic looking bikes and its good to see that everyone had protection.

Going 10 mph over the speed limit supposedly. Plus, him just being a douchebag as it's month end for them and he probably needs to make his ticket quota . I wasn't in that group though luckily.

never understood those motorcycle cops with open faced helmet and almost no protection gear.

Anyways, except for the party pooper, looks like you had a good time.

I know right!? it's a first for the Turtle/Bisugo rides as far as we know.
Rene's good.. he's the one who went back with his kids to pick up his truck and tow the downed rider.. what a nice guy, then he rode back to Castro Valley to meet us for the lunch.

I'll def tell them you said hello

Rene's always done what he could. A pillar to the MC community!

He is the one that taught me how to behave in a group ride. I used to go to lunch with him and Sean, Vic, and who ever else, it was always something new to me so it was really fun.

strange that so many people in group 3 would have gotten pulled over. i would have thought that group 1 and 2 would have been the ones. i guess they got lucky.

looks like it was fun though.

Hah I was thinking the same thing.. I think they were so fast that 5-0 didnt see 'em. I know we never saw 1 & 2 after our first stop.
