It's pretty simple, you can get all the components at auto zone (I already had the wire/wire connectors though). I bought a lighter/socket then wired it up with a fuse, then to the battery just to be safe. I got some help from my dad who knows how to do all the stuff but it's pretty straight forward. I was looking for a diy but never found one so just decided to attempt it myself. I might take some picks and post up a simple diy next time I take the bike apart.

I bought Vortex swing arm spools from Cycle Gear and then Found out I paid more when I could of had it for cheaper at a local shop. I also found out that my Go Pro camera I bought could of been had cheaper---really cheaper at the bike shop as well. I'm about to do clean my chain on the bike.

I just made a decent phone mount for my dash, it took a few hours to make but it was well worth it. I'm sorta ocd about damaging my phone so I made the mount extremely secure (lots of velcro) . I love having a bike, it gives me fun stuff to do in my free time. O, I cleaned the bike too.

Here are a couple pictures of my new phone mount. I can even use it to record my rides, as a gps and charge it at the same time with my new lighter socket...isn't life great?

Good job Cody, I like it!!

I'm gonna fab up some metal that spans the fairing bolts with an attached Ram Mount for my iPhone as soon as I get the cradle.

It took a while for me to make but it was well worth it, I was thinking about this little project before I even bought my bike. I kinda just improved on my idea as I made it so it shouldn't take long if you already have a game plan. I was going to purchase a suction cup mount but decided that I wouldn't trust my $350 phone to be secured by a suction cup on a gas tank with tons of vibration . I hope yours turns out as good as mine did, Good luck

p.s. thanks slolane! If my memory serves me correctly, some one else has done the ram mount mod you suggested, I just can't remember who.

So this is mine! It only cost like $6 bucks
Found the mount of Ebay (live2ride I have the EVO also)

Here is the mount:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Bike-Motorcycle-...item336749c4db

I just took the mount apart and used only the parts I needed, just the front. Then used an L bracket to attach it right above the gauge cluster (yes i screwed it in )

I dont actually have a camera besides my phone, makes it a little hard to take a picture of the phone in the mount I'll try and find some other means of taking the pic

Nice! That looks like it works well. I was considering one of those types of mounts but I seem to enjoy making my own accessories, I have a lot of free time now that I'm out of class.

I used normal flat black duplicolor on mine, it does the job. I found that auto zone and walmart both carry the Krylon Fusion, idk if you have any of those near you.

I just got finished painting more bolts, I think I've gotten all the normal bolts except the ones on the undertail. I painted the front fender bolts, the bolts surrounding the dash, the passenger peg bolts, license plate bolts, and idk if I mentioned the handlebar bolts before, but I did those the other day; all the bolts are gold and it's holding up great. Unfortunately I found 3 small 1-1.5cm scratches on my tank, 2 on the left and 1 on the right . I have a tank protector but they were kinda far to the side, I'm not sure how they got there .

I did my own version of the $36 muffler, the $0 muffler. I used my welding skillz and the stock internals to create the internals, chopped it, and went black.

Just finished doing my 600-mile service and failed at my attempt to shim the carb needles. Couldn't get 2 of the screws to loosen and started to chew up the screw heads so I stopped until I can get some JIS bits to try again. Chain was slightly out of spec and too loose. Still need to take it for a ride and check the idle speed. If the rain holds out I plan on washing it and waxing it but it ain't looking good. May have to go catch a movie instead.

I think I have a burnt up valve/valve seat... I'm tearing the engine down the weekend after this to see. Then I'll fix it when I have money to. But this sucks!

This was actually yesterday, but I set up my phone to be able to take videos of my rides. Here's a short clip of a great back road I found the other day. I guess I should have let off the throttle near the end .

Yes...I was going...kinda fast . That wasn't a clutch up wheelie, just a mix of high speed and a steep uphill with a steep downhill on the other side. It surprised me a little to have the front come about 1 1/2 feet off the ground, first time that's ever happened above 20mph.

Mounted iPhone, first go at it. Will test and see what needs to be altered. Ram Mount still on the way so I will check that out when it gets here to see which I like best.

iPhone mount in Otterbox mount.

I just fell in love with my bike again. I got off work and went for a short joy ride around town before heading home but something about that ride just clicked. I've had my bike for just over a month now and to fall in love with it again so quickly is just plain awesome.

I cleaned my bike then detailed it with some detailing spray wax . I also painted the fairing bolts under the passenger seat and the lever caps gold.
