i'm guessing he four fingered the brakes.

i think its good technology though.
since you need the gyroscopic force to stay upright, the ABS keeps you from falling, before you brake.

hopefully they give you a big discount on your collision coverage for this.

It wouldn't be as dramatic if he actually braked correctly without ABS. You see very little fork compression before slide initiation.

I would like to see the braking distance differences between properly applied slow squeeze and the ABS.

The video is only showing panic braking I think. Good braking technique for regular stops in wet conditions makes ABS useless.

So I was the only one who thought that watching that video would teach you a technique for developing killer abdominals while riding a motorcycle?

its good insurance for a beginner.
if i had it, my first wreck would not have happened...

but the bad thing may be that the new rider never learns the nuances of properly applying brakes.

Theoretically they are the same. However, when you are braking on less than ideal terrain (gravel, leaves, sewer plates) Wouldn't you be more comfortable knowing you wouldn't accidentally lock the wheels? Many of us know the braking potential of the bike on the street, but what about when its raining? Do you know how fast you can stop? Do you know how far you can squeeze before locking up the front?

my feelings on abs: its nice. its expensive. i'm cheap.

ive crashed a bike from locking up the front twice. do i think abs is worth paying an extra $1000? not really. maybe if it was a 10k$ bike.

Yes, I thought the same thing. LOL! Abs, however, are built in the gym. And at meals.

Hmmm, good demonstration of the abs compared to just grabbing both brakes without any progressive input at all.

Don't kid yourself, I wouldn't want to be braking that hard in any position except straight upright even with abs... that would be a wild scary ride if you were leaned over at all and grabbed both brakes like that.
