Did you etch them or find some paint that sticks to the aluminum?

Just to interject my carb painting experience, if you prime with DuPont Corlar epoxy primer, and then topcoat with Imron, they'll hold up for decades.

I'm certainly interested in how Gordon's beautiful carbs got to be red.

Thanks Jim, not that I wanted to paint carbs, but every now and again need to paint something aluminum and it's always a bugger to get it stick.

Hate to let y'all down, but rattle can caliper paint ("ceramic"), after a soda blast clean/prep.

I'm not a pro painter, nor am I representing the carb paint as "forever"...it'll stay on provided you're not mauling the carbs with hammer and chisel or dousing with acid.

Here's a pic of my Ducati (Mikuni) carbs...painted 3-4 years ago(?) Still in service and looking fine.

They'll last, more important is the carb guts...very clean internally. I'll get a pic up tomorrow.
