my friend has gone missing

It makes sense to me to post this here since the site does get a good bit of traffic from New York. My friend's last contact with anyone was on December 30 in New York. He left his wallet, phone, computer, and the rest of his belongings in the hotel room he was staying at. No one has heard from him since.

If any of you guys see him, let me or this facebook group know please!

Me too.
He's been a good friend for a long time and I would hate for anything to happen to him.

I hate to ask this but he wasn't having life issues before going up there was he? I ask that because leaving those things behind in a hotel room and vanishing usually isn't a good sign. I won't say what it typically leads to though. I hope he is found alive and well soon.

I wouldn't have suspected that, but he is a bit of a pessimist. My biggest problem with him going up there was the "friends" he went up with. From what his roommate of 2 years told me, he didn't know these people too well. Also, from the last few texts that his roommate got from him were mostly about how he was being excluded from the group he was with and that he felt alone like he had no friends. YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH GOOD FRIENDS DURING NEW YEARS. I tried to convince him to celebrate with me, but he was determined to go to New York.

Oh man, this is just sounding worse and worse. I really hope he didn't do what I think he might have done.

I know... but I'm hoping for the best anyway. Posting here is a shot in the dark, but hopefully the right people will see this thread and maybe even see Ian somewhere... would be nice.

Unhappy

Unfortunately, no. The only updates I've heard of since I posted this here was that he may be carrying his ID, a $20 metro card, and a jacket along with what he was wearing. Nothing more than that, but the fb group is nearing 2k helpful members who are actively searching and helping out through the net if they can't physically... so there is still hope. I miss my buddy so bad...
