If you don't start fixing things that aren't wrong. Maintence cost are minimal. Got 51,000kms now, total shop costs $160. for a valve check and sync carbs.Told me not to worry about the valves unless I start to notice a drop in power, fuel mileage or starts to get hard to start. He's an ex-racer-mechanic and hates doing unnecessary maintence just to pad his pockets. Other than that it has just been regular maintence ( oil, filters, tires, chains (3), sprockets (2 sets), brake pads (1 set, front only)

There are no big costs compared to a 600 or literbike

I would guess around 6,000 - 7,000 miles, since you'd probably have to replace tires near that. Then shortly after do valves.
Or buy some basic tools for $50 and your only maintenance costs will be consumable items like tires, oil, chains etc.. |
