Battlax S20 EVO vs Sportmax GPR300

I'm currently running Rosso IIs on my ninja 300.

I want to try either the s20 evo or the gpr300

I will be running the ninja300 50/50 track/street for the rest of the season.

What do you guys think and which one would you choose?

OK reviews for the S20 EVO, but haven't heard anything about the Dunlop GPR300 yet.

I have the S20 Evo on my street ninjette at the moment and imagine they would be pretty decent at the track, no worse than the DRII but doubt any better. I think the 003RS rear was better than the DRII but the SC1 110 front seemed better than the 003 Pro in a 120.

I've seen and heard good things about the s20 evo. It also has decent tread for street use.

Why not stick with the DRIIs?

I know the DRIIs are good. I run DRIIs on two of my bikes currently so i want to try another tire on the ninja to see how they compare.

bt003 was on my list but i was told its really track bias so i'm not going to run them since wet traction is something i still prefer to have for the early morning runs up the northern cali coast.

If its a true 50/50 I would not really hesitate to run the 003RS. Its not like its a DOT race tire. Anything less than 50/50 track bias and sure, they don't have enough life in the center to bother. I would not hesitate to run the Evo as a street/track tire - not one bit - but if it is really going to spend half its life on the track - maybe the 003RS is a better option.

The S20 and EVO are the replacements for the BT016 and Pro's, and if that's the case... they should be great tires. I have the BT016 Pro's on my FZ1 and they did great for 3 trackdays and a couple thousand miles of street use.

I'm switching to the EVO's when I'm done being lazy and getting some tires for it. If my 300 didn't already come with brand new DRII's, it would have the EVO's on it by now.

From the reading I've done, albeit different sized tires, the S20EVO is a slightly better tire than the DRII's.

3 TD on e one set of S20 and 2 TD on 2nd set. I like them a lot. Probably try Q3 on 636 next time but getting 3000 miles easy out of the S20. Note they are not the Evo.
