Mounting 12v socket and LEDs on same line?

Hello all,

I've been lurking for a while and the search function didn't bring up these two together, so I figured I'd ask. I'm planning on wiring up a 12v socket and about 8 24cm strips of LEDs to my bike. I plan on wiring it directly to the battery and using an inline 20 amp fuse, 12 gauge wire, an on/off switch, and then grounding it back to the battery.

Is it safe to wire both the 12v socket and the LEDs to the same 12 gauge line as long as it takes place after the inline fuse? Will having my phone charging (12v socket in use) pull more electricity into the LEDs and blow them? Thanks for the help, and I will be sure to take a lot of pictures of the finished product.

It'll be fine.
You can run as many things as you want in parallel, it won't change the voltage.
I wired up something straight to the battery through a fuse that ran an LM7805 into an LED, a GPS charger, Cell phone charger, and mp3 player charger.

Thanks for the answer. I ended up running them together and it looks/works great. I'll post some pics later this week.
