How to remove a decal ?

I want to remove the ninja decal from my bike, has someone here removed it before that can give me some tips on how i can remove mine without causing any issues ?

If it's the Ninja vinyl decal on the side fairing it can be removed easily by heating it with a hair dryer and carefully peeling it off. Any gummy residue can be removed with a little kerosene. I've heard that WD40 also works since there is kerosene in it as well.

Yes i am looking to remove the Ninja Decal since i have installed a new fairing for the right side and that does not have the decal

i will try this and hope fully i will not need the new fairing

It would be easier to put a Ninja decal on the the new fairing than to remove the decal from the old one;unless of course you just like the way it looks w/o the decal.

I am still trying to find a decal that matches the OEM that is why i wanted to know my options in case if i am not been able to find one

Just remove the one, then order 2 from Tri. They won't be perfectly OEM looking, but they'll match. And honestly, you won't be able to tell the they're not OEM just looking at them.

I took the Ninja decals off my 2011 because with Tri's Flushmounts the Ninja gets covered up. I went with these 2 color decals http://www.sportbikestickershop.com/...ker-ninja2.htm

Need one more suggestion, i was able to install the new fairing but the new one is color is standing out a little from rest of the bike ? can someone please suggest what can i do make sure the new fairing mixes up better with the rest of the bike ?

The old one has faded because it's been in the sun for 2 years if it's a 2010 or four years if it's a 2008. The new one has been in a box and is as it was from the factory so it's not faded. That's the difference between the two. You will notice the fading if you take off the old decal which has been shielding part of the fairing from the sun and that is something to think about before you remove the Ninja decal.

You might be able to restore the original color on your old fairing by rubbing it out with a mild cleaning compound, but because of the difference in time in the sun, they may never be exactly the same.

I got mine off real easy, just had a minivan back into the bike and knock it over. When insurance paid for new fairings the new plastic didn't have the decals. I didn't have to lift a finger to remove 'em!

You can order the OEM stickers from your dealership (or any online Kawasaki parts place).

How the hell did you guys remove the adhesive from the decals. Mine is being extremely stubborn. Tried a blow dryer, wd40, goo gone. Nothing seems to work.

Tried soaking it in simple green over night? I do that to remove residues from a lot of things that won't come up, though submerging the fairing might be hard and I don't know if the paint would like it either.

For the extreme option you could buy some touch up paint from colorrite and use find grit sandpaper to get the adhesive off, then touch up?

I have some actual stickers that the previous owner put on and I am wanting to take them off. Has anyone tried goo-gone? It has always worked for me before but I have never used it on anything painted like a car or bike. I dont think it harms the paint, but it does take a lot of rubbing to get everything off

I have used them to remove stickers on other bikes and they work very well. Wurth is high quality stuff and tends to be expensive. I believe Harbor Freight also sells a version, but I would try it on junk plastic first to be sure it doesn't damage the color.

Eucalyptus oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will lift any goo off! Best stuff on the planet for it! xx Will take the sticky stuff of the back, so not good if you want to reusing the stickers! I use it for removing my tank protector, no marks at all! Might not want to smoke while using it!!?
