its probably not actually moving the idle adjust... my money is on clogged jets or improper choking

the bracket it's mounted to will rotate with it hanging free, so maintaining an adjustment is impossible while riding. if i can figure out where to mount it i have a feeling it will solve this issue cause it wont be flopping back and forth against the engine case. i just bought this bike two weeks ago and i'm finding all the things that were done half-assed before i got it. but this isn't my first rodeo.

note that photo is backwards. the screw normally faces the left-hand side. that diagram has the engine-side of the carb facing toward the viewer.

You probably know this already but put a little dap of blue Loctite on those screws to keep it from happening again.

Ha!! The screws are still in the carbs!!! it was just reassembled without the bracket mounted cause i didn't know where it went. it was hangin' when i took the carbs off to soak (float bowls stuck...after PO let it sit up) so i let it continue to hang. figured i'd get it hung when i found out where to put it.
