Kawasaki announces new styling and colors for the 2024 KLX off-road lineup. (Kawasaki/)Kawasaki has updated the entire off-road KLX lineup for 2024 with new styling. The KLX300R, KLX230R, KLX140R, and KLX110R receive new colors and graphics to match the KX competition line. Additionally, Kawasaki updated its 300 dual sports, the KLX300 and KLX300SM with new colors and graphics as well as granting both models with an updated LED headlight.

2024 Kawasaki KLX300R ($6,199)

The 2024 Kawasaki KLX300R is the flagship model in the KLX off-road lineup. Based on the dual sport variant, the KLX300R is essentially a stripped-down version of the KLX300. Utilizing the same 292cc fuel-injected DOHC liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, semi-double-cradle frame, 43mm inverted telescopic fork, and Uni-Trak shock, both models share a nearly identical specs sheet.

The 2024 Kawasaki KLX230R is Team Green’s largest air-cooled off-road KLX. As seen in other KLX models, the 230R is the stripped-down off-road version of the KLX230 dual sport. Fitted with the same 233cc fuel-injected SOHC single-cylinder engine, six-speed transmission, 32mm Keihin throttle body, and high-tensile-steel box-section perimeter frame, both KLX230 models share many of the same parts.

Utilizing a 37mm telescopic fork offering 9.8 inches of travel plus Uni-Trak linkage and monoshock with 9.9 inches of suspension travel, the KLX230R has a seat height of 36.4 inches while the dual sport variety sits closer to the ground with a 34.8-inch seat height. Fitted with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, the KLX230R sports a full-size stance and opens the door to a wide range of tire options.

Currently only the KLX230R has received updated styling and colors for 2024, with the 2024 Kawasaki KLX230R available in Lime Green or Battle Gray.

2024 Kawasaki KLX140R ($3,649), KLX140R L ($3,949), KLX140R F ($4,249)

Kawasaki offers the 2024 KLX140R in three variants. All three KLX140R models utilize the same 144cc SOHC air-cooled single-cylinder engine fed by a 20mm Keihin carburetor and five-speed transmission. The chassis is identical across the model range with a high-tensile-steel box-section perimeter frame, 1.5-gallon fuel tank, 220mm front disc with dual-piston caliper, and 186mm rear disc with single-piston caliper.

The KLX140R is the smallest of the three in terms of wheel size, seat height, and ground clearance. Fitted with a 17-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear, the 2024 Kawasaki KLX140R has a 30.7-inch seat height and 9.3 inches of ground clearance. The KLX140R utilizes a 33mm telescopic fork with 7.1 inches of travel and a Uni-Trak linkage and shock with five-way preload adjustability and 7.1 inches of travel. For 2024 the Kawasaki KLX140R is available in Lime Green or Battle Gray.

The KLX140R L is the midsize option in the KLX140 lineup. Featuring a 19-inch front wheel and 16-inch rear, the 2024 Kawasaki KLX140R L has a seat height of 31.5 inches and 10 inches of ground clearance. Running a 33mm telescopic fork and Uni-Trak linkage and shock with piggyback reservoir, fully adjustable preload and 22-way-adjustable rebound damping, the suspension offers 7.1 inches of travel front and rear. The 2024 Kawasaki KLX140R L is available in Lime Green or Battle Gray.

The KLX140R F is the largest of the three KLX140 models. Featuring full-size off-road wheels, the 2024 Kawasaki KLX140R F bridges the gap between the smaller KLX140 models and the more powerful KLX230R models. Fitted with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, the KLX140R F has a 33.9-inch seat height, 12.4 inches of ground clearance, and increased suspension travel. The 33mm telescopic fork offers 7.5 inches of travel while the Uni-Trak linkage and shock with 20-way-adjustable rebound damping and threaded preload adjustability provide 7.9 inches of travel. The 2024 Kawasaki KLX140R F is available in Lime Green and Battle Gray.

Completing Kawasaki’s off-road KLX lineup are the 2024 KLX110R and KLX110R L. Both models feature the same 112cc SOHC air-cooled engine fed by an 18mm Keihin carburetor with a screw-type throttle limiter. Many of the chassis components are shared across both models, such as a 1.0-gallon fuel tank, 42.3-inch wheelbase, drum brakes, suspension components, and 14-inch/12-inch wheel sizes.

The KLX110R is fitted with a 30mm hydraulic telescopic fork and a single hydraulic shock, both providing 4.3 inches of suspension travel. Sitting the lowest of all the KLX models, the KLX110R has a 26.8-inch seat height and provides 8.5 inches of ground clearance.

What differentiates the KLX110R L from the smaller variant is increased suspension travel, ground clearance (10.4 inches), a taller seat height (28.7 inches), as well as a four-speed manual transmission with a clutch. Utilizing the same suspension components as the KLX110R, the larger KLX110R L offers 5.5 inches of travel up front and 5.2 inches in the rear.
