Quick rear shock question

will a pregen shock fit a newgen?

never seen it before, but I don't see why not... the new gen shock fits the pre gens.

The pregen shock is s bit shorter, though.

question is, why would you want to do so?

Thanks for the quick responce - I will order one and see, reason is I need a new rear shock, 25,000's on the bike... with a lot of 2-up riding and the rear shock has lost it's spring.... (the gas leaked out I guess?) so yeah. Cheap replacement, it's 100 for an 08 offa ebay or 30ish for a pregen's

well, the pregen shock is softer and with no preload adjustment feature, the bike will sit even lower with 2 people on it. I wonder if that might lead to handling problems.

how about an ex500 shock?

Does the year of the 500 shock matter for fit?

sorry, can't help you there, but I would guess it wouldn't matter based on kawi not doing anything major to the 500 from year to year.
