Fork brace for a 2003 250R
Hello! I registered after a long and frustrating search for a fork brace that will fit the forks from a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja 250R. These are being swapped onto a different bike and the stock fender won't work so I need the brace up top so I can run a fiberglass/ABS classic styled fender without the internal bracing. I've heard of Telefix and Superbrace but neither have them in production any longer.
I've also seen that the fork brace for a ZR7S will fit (Superbrace has the same part number for the 250R and the ZR7S) but I can't find one for that model either. Any help is mucho appreciated! |

I run a superbrace that I picked up on eBay in good condition. Might be your best bet as well?

Yep, I'm always keeping on eye on the used market. I'll continue to do so.
By the way...want to sell yours? |

Thought I should chime in with an update about what I managed to put together.
Reminder on what is going on here: the bike is a 1971 Honda CB350 with the forks from a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja EX250. Believe me, it's a huge upgrade over the stock CB350 forks. After a few months of looking around, even going down the road of looking into having one made, I found a solution from Fast From the Past. The vital measurements you need to make or buy a fork brace is that the forks are 185mm center-to-center and the fork legs are 56mm in diameter at the widest point (right where the dust seals are inserted, that's where the brace will attach to the forks). Jim at FFTP suggested a Tarozzi brace, part number 22-0028. He swapped the center bridge to a 185mm unit. Result is that the brace works great with the CB350 18" front wheel. The brace is arched so I can hang a front fender from it when I get to that part of the project. I can't say whether or not the stock EX250 front fender will work, but this opens a bunch of doors for you guys anyway. At the very least, those measurements should be preserved! |

I'm pretty sure they are cast aluminum

I can't get past the generic fork brace page on the linked site. Anyone know how much these cost?

The Tarozzi fork braces are made from a cast aluminum and then coated black with some mystery material.
FFTP is selling these at $99. I didn't pay any extra for mine despite being semi-custom. I've phoned around other Tarozzi dealers and these prices are as good as they get. Attached is a shot I took when I first mounted the brace on the EX250/250R forks. Overall, still very happy with the result. |
