Jealous.
Once again I'm jealous of all those able to ride year long.
while my bike is sad and cold

I may go out for you tomorrow and take a picture next to a big public thermometer for you, with my bike next to it, of course.

I rode to my dentist appointment today in Spokane, WA. It's 30F and cloudy. It's gonna have to snow or ice up to make me stop.

I would ride but the 2 feet of snow and slush don't make riding fun.

Maybe this will make you feel a little less jealous. Just had hernia surgery last Thursday. Nin Jette won't be seeing the light of day for a while. Actually shopping around for a battery tender right now. :-(

My Floridian cousins came here to New York and were wearing full blown winter coats in 50 degree weather, because it was "to cold". At these temperatures, most of us are wearing t-shirts and shorts! Ahh..NY has to seasons. When you can't ride, and when you can!

I'm sorry for your temperature problems... that is one reason why I refuse to go back to cold weather. I lived in Colorado for 18 years, I've lived in Maryland for about 4 years and Minnesota for 3 years... Minnesota was the worst, -50 is rediculous I love the fact that we only get about 1" of rain a year and the rest of the time it's around 70... now if we could only get the cost of living down here in SoCal everything would be great

Don't forget to start her up for at least 10 minutes once a week. Maybe get some seafoam stabilizer in your gas tank as well

Nighttime it's almost too cold to ride on the highway for me. Probably gets down to 65F at night, but add in the windchill from 65mph.
It's been raining/drizzling constantly for the last week or so though, so not much riding gets done (especially with cheng shin tires. Take off too fast and the front end gets squirrely. Stop too fast and the rear slips out. Definitely not fun.).

Rode tonight at 1c and had a BBQ for dinner. Lovely. Wouldn't move to a monotone climate for all the gold in the world. Okay, I lied, yes I would. But I would miss the snow and have to move back after I spent the gold on ice racing bikes. |

Going through the toughest part of winter right now :P The other issue with weather is that in summer here it gets up to over 40 C or 104 F |

This thread confuses me. What is this "snow" and "ice" stuff you refer to that seems to attack motorcycles. Must be particularly malicious stuff. Is there a farkle that might help?

I think I've said this in every single weather thread, so it's only right I say it here, too:
I love California. I feel bad for you guys who have to winterize and store away your bikes, but I don't feel your pain.

So, I've been thinking about this "snow" thing, so I snapped a shot on my way home from work. Is that it over there by the ocean, the whitish/tan stuff on the right?

Yep, that looks like snow. The really dangerous kind too, stay as far away as possible from it! I've heard stories of it eating bikes AND people!

oh floyd
Here's some snow for ya: p_00053.jpg Funny thing was I remember seeing a cruiser out that day in the morning. I still ride over the winter so long as there isn't ice on the roads or snowing. But I won't ride for long distance trips though. The roads have been icy for weeks out in my neighborhood. It's just not melting much out here. I'm still jetting my bike right now so for now it doesn't matter.
