2008+ Ninja 250r FULL Electrical Wiring Diagram here!

I have just edited a wiring diagram for the 2008+ Ninja 250r. I have made this diagram easy to follow and added some detail.

This is version: US 1.1 (my version of the diagram)

If you have ANY requests or suggestions, please leave a comment here and I will look into them and possibly update the diagram.

I might soon change wire colors from black to colored for easy reference.

Here is a link to the complete wiring diagram.

Click here for the full size wiring diagram. (1600 x 1200)

Here is a diagram I edited for easy reading and tracing on the turn signal circuit.

Click here for the full size wiring diagram with turn signal circuit highlighted.. (1600 x 1200)

EDIT: Replacement pic:

I will try and make a PDF version, but for now a PDF version is not yet available. Is this for printing? Because I can make a printable version that should fit on a 8,5 x 11

Ill be back on later, Jon

Thanks - amazing how complicated it is yet works. You would have thought that simple British electricals of the 60s/early 70s would have been more reliable.

Actually several things did change in the 2010+ (JAF+) model -- the 3rd edition of the service manual has separate diagrams for the JAF vs. the J8F/J9F. I will have a closer look and try to detail the changes soon.

Great stuff!

After 25 years of inactivity I've decided to make futzing around with electronics a hobby again. Do you have any knowledge of what kind of current/voltage the crankshaft sensor generates? A pic32mx795 development board is in the mail and I'd like to make the crankshaft sensor periodically generate an interrupt.

lowspeed, not sure about the current specs but if you're looking to get rpm you can use an induction lead with one of the coil wires. just a thought. if you have a multimeter take some specs and let us know.

A lot of the information is in the Service Manual. It's probably a Hall effect sensor, but I'm not going to bet on it.

Wiring assistists pretty please w/a cherry on top :)

Hi guys,

My next project is installing halo eyes on my head lights w/led. I purchase the things I need. The issue I have is finding which line on wiring diagram should I connect the on/off switch to? And thank you so much for posting the Electrical system wiring diagram. Not to many caring people around to do such a thing. Thank you once again.

It all depends on when you want them to turn on, and how you want them to turn on.

You would wire them up to different points on diagram depending on what you want..

Eg. You want them to turn on when you flip a switch, but only when the bike is on.

You'd would wire them with a switch to the lowbeam circuit.

Eg. You want to be able to turn them on whether they key is in the on position or not.

You could wire them straight to the battery with a switch and fuse.

Thumbs up Wiring assistists pretty please w/a cherry on top :)

I was thinking straight to the battery but I would like to wire them to the lowbeam circuit. I'm not sure which wire it is those. I do have the wiring diagram. It's terrible because I am an audio engineer and I do repair resistors etc if need to be in speakers or mics. I know I can do this job, I'm a perfectionist and I want to do it correct, you know? I need to know which line is it and the color. It is something that unplugs like the signal turns or do I have to cut the wires and twist them together with the angel eyes/leds to the on/off switch? Thank you for your help and very quick response.

I would spilce them in with the BLUE/YELLOW positive wire going to the lowbeam

So Lets say the positive from the lowbeam (blue/yellow) to your switch and from your switch to the angeleye positive. The negative would go to the any ground wire (black/yellow), it should be as simple as it sounds.

This way not anyone can just flip the switch anytime and turn your angel eyes on because they would require the key to be in the on position before the switch is flipped.

so the one thing that changed between 09 and 10 is the connector for the stator is different. on the 10 they are all lined up in a row whereas the 09 has two next to eachother and the third opposed.

From the updated Service Manual (5th Edition, May 18th, 2011). I merged the two separate pages together so it is one fluid graphic.

Gives no year, only model number "EX250J8", but should apply to 08+ Ninja's (United States).

Attached is zip of the full resolution image (8250X6250) and also just in case it goes down from imageshack.

Not to be picky, but does anyone have a massive PDF of this instead of a jpeg or png? Already have a pdf of the pregen diagram, looking for the same thing on the newgen.
