It has a lot to do with the increased flow. Mufflers and cats are the primary things that quiet the exhaust, but they are also the things that restrict the flow. Somebody could probably give you a more in-depth answer, but that's pretty much it.

You could make an exhaust quite and less restrictive for a motorcycle, but that would require a large volume muffler, and there is a lack of space on these bikes, The original exhaust on my FZ6 was fairly free flowing and extremely quite, but it was a very large under tail can. Plus most people enjoy the sound a bit.

Area P has a quiet core muffler that is quieter yet still has very good performance gains. The best of both worlds.

The thing is iam giving it to my girlfriend oh that did not sound right i mean she will be taking the bike maybe this time next year and wanted a quiet exhaust,so i will have to put stocker back on.I wanted to upgrade my bike and give her mine the trade in would be like what only 1500 if were lucky on these bikes,so i might as well let her learn on the 250
