I did see that. I'm still uncertain if I wanna get the 300 or 250. My hubby is all about me getting the 300 just cause he thinks it's safer with ABS. Plus, he likes that it's FI. (me too) The only think that would really make me not go with the 300 right now is if I can find either of my favorite 250 which are the 2010 SE red and black or the 2011 white SE. I'll have to sell my group buy package which shouldn't be a problem if I go with the 300.

Okay people...I'm 95% sure I'm getting a 300 in Dec. I'm just wondering if I should get a warranty with it. Is it worth it? I just worry with such a new bike that it can have issues.

I personally say get it because some motorcycle are like iPhone ( they always says something new and better that you need) and the biggest reason are recalls.

Anyone have a Costco card? I went on their website to see if we can get the 300 through them. They listed South Seas Cycle in Waipahu as one of the partner dealerships. See how much we can get it for. If it's a lot cheaper I'd totally get a Costco card.

bike will be on craigslist in two weeks. gotta get the safety re-done. it is a custom color, had it dyno'd again last week so i could set the fuel up(shimmed). comes with all OEM parts and aftermarket parts. 4268 miles on the clock. motul oil only with OEM filter. just did a coolant flush.

$4100 FIRM. if you think it's too high..don't even reply.

Just ordered a bunch of new parts for the CB. big bore kit, hot cam, HD springs clutch and studs, new valves and guides, fork springs, and shocks. Also getting a set of OEM pipes from someone.

Still waiting to hear back from the machinist so I can send my head and jugs out already for boring and some serious porting.

Hopefully it'll be done by the end of the year. Then comes the tuning.

Hey guys, I'm finally checking in, having been on island about 3 months. I finally got the Ninjette all squared away and inspected, so now all I have to do is go by the satellite town hall and get my plates squared away. Thought I was good to go, and the high beam went out on the way to the 1st inspection. Long story short, I had to get parts from the mainland to get the el-cheapo HID kit uninstalled, and went ahead and swapped in the new Racetech springs and new fork seals while I had the front end all exposed. I should have time this Wednesday, so I might be legal again before the long weekend. I've got my Concours up to speed, so at least I can commute on that for now.

That said, is anyone up for riding next weekend? I'm thinking about heading over to Tantalus, though I've heard it isn't very good when it's been raining recently. Probably just cruise through to see what it's like and then cruise down and around toward Waimanalo. Thoughts?

I have approximately zero desire to be out in the shopping crowd on Black Friday, so I was thinking that morning might be a good window to head up and see what the road looks like. I'm in Makakilo, so it'd be easier for me to meet up with anyone who wants to go over toward town. How does the Chevron on School St. SE of Pali hwy (near exit 21B) sound?

I'm normally up and getting ready for PT by 0430 during the week, so anything after 7am would be ok. How do you guys think the traffic will be getting across the island? I'd expect that other than the early morning shoppers, it should be pretty dead out. I'm not locked in to Friday, but it would have to be either that or Saturday. Thoughts?

I'm all but certain that my unit will require us to work on Friday. Can we plan for Saturday instead?

My wife is also pushing for a Saturday morning ride, considering (like you) some folks may still have to work on Friday, which would mean more traffic. Saturday at 7:30am work? We'll probably have to take it kinda easy on Tantalus as I'm seeing scattered showers in the forecast for Thursday and Friday, and I've heard leaves can be a problem after it rains. In any case, being my first time on the road I'd want to just cruise through anyway. Kalanianaole Hwy should be dry by the time we get out there, as should the H3 on the way back through.

Current going in bid is for 7:30am (early enough to beat most of the traffic, but after the sun comes up) on Saturday, at the Chevron on School St just SE of the Pali Hwy / H-1 exit.

Looks like a slight chance of scattered showers tomorrow. Still going to be at the gas station at 7:30, we'll just have to take it really easy on Tantalus. If it's good on the way up we might step it up a bit coming down, but we'll have to play it by ear. Unless it's a thunderstorm, it doesn't really rain hard enough here to convince me to not ride anyway. I've got one other local guy coming, not on a Ninjette. I got all my paperwork and stickers squared away Wednesday, so I'll be rocking the two-fiddy.

Ended up being just me and the off-forum guy I know who showed up. Still, y'all missed a good ride. There were a couple of sketchy sections of the road, but once we got to the overlook the way back down was more fun because we knew where the good corners were. Broke in the kneesliders on both sides of my new leathers, and no need to do warp-speed to get that done. If it's dry, and the leaves aren't everywhere, that road is actually really good. Pavement is good, sight lines are decent, and none of the corners really sneak up on you. Shot some decent video with my GoPro on the way up, but didn't swap out the batteries for the return trip, so I only got a partial vid.

Does anyone here have experience with valve jobs on the 2010 or similar model year? I'm about 300 miles from needing mine done, and though I think I can do it myself, it sure would be nice to have a helping hand from someone who's been through it. Food and beverages on me if you care to assist!
